In summary

Thunder Bay Golf Resort receives high praise for its well-maintained golf course, accommodating staff, and unique elk viewing tours paired with gourmet dining experiences. Many guests appreciate the friendly service and the picturesque setting, which includes charming carriage rides and wildlife sightings. However, some visitors note that the accommodations are outdated and in need of renovation, and there have been occasional reports of unprofessional behavior from management.

Took the trip to see the elk on the spur of the moment to break up the winter blues. Great trip. Elk viewing was a little short due to the temperature outdoors, but otherwise really enjoyed the time. Dinner was spot on. Everything was delicious. The room we had was nice, clean and we made it warm enough to suit us for the night. Breakfast was delicious order from the menu,, not a buffet. I really liked that. I wish I would've read some reviews though, I would have brought some cash instead of paying for everything on a card. I would have loved to left a tip for our tour guide, wait staff and b…

The NYE celebration was awesome! We throughly enjoyed the carriage ride in the snow, elk viewing, entertainment and dinner at the lovely cabin, breakfast was delicious as well. The service was outstanding! The rooms are outdated but lended to the charm. Well done everyone !

Booked 4 of us for the elk sighting wagon ride and dinner. Our driver and his assistant were entertaining and informative. I can't say enough about the superior food. An exceptional meal from the shrimp, Asian salad, soup and the dessert😋😋👍👍💕. The kitchen staff was quick and accommodating. We can't come up.with anything negative. Well done Thunder Bay!!!!

Participated In the elk wagon tour with 5 course dinner. A very fun evening. Food was good and the wagon ride fun with elk bugeling close by.

Staff is amazing! Rooms need some TLC, but from in the process of new owners taking over. I was part of a wedding party, and the staff, especially Sheila, went above and beyond. If you want a place for a quaint wedding, this is the place! The food was incredible, local wines, full bar, and they even take you on a carriage ride through the wildlife reserve. Call them! Book your event here!! You will not regret it. Oh, and... it's on a golf course, and they have an RV park if you'd rather bring your own room.

Just enjoyed a play and stay at Thunder Bay Resort, leaves are changing color and the weather for fall golf, in the 80's. Nice rooms, with a porch over looking the 2nd fairway . Staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Golf was great and the course was in excellent shape. I had sent my brother to Thunder Bay Resort , he and his friends loved it as well. Well worth the drive. Nice and relaxing place to go.

I'm on their mailing list for golf dealeos, grabbing one late last year to put one together for last weekend to set up a golf outing with the fam. Spectacular deal and just icing on the cake with an excellent and accommodating staff, great food, and course in such beautiful shape. It's not your dad's stuffy and uptight golf course and that's a great thing!

After visiting Thunder Bay Resort for over 20 years, it’s disappointing to say this will be our last. The wait staff, bar staff, and cart girls have always been fantastic — friendly, attentive, and a big part of what kept us coming back year after year. Unfortunately, our experience with the current golf course manager, John, has completely changed how we feel about the resort. His unprofessional attitude and condescending behavior toward guests made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. It’s disheartening to be treated that way, especially after being loyal patrons for so long. We truly appre…

This is the place to be in the fall. Took the elk tour and was amazed. Then to the kitchen for a 5 course meal cooked over a 150 year old wood stove. Each course had a choice of 2 wines or both. Golf course was the best. Food and drink at the club house was very good. The staff was tremendous
