In summary

Sandy Burr Country Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, beautiful layout, and the challenging design attributed to Donald Ross. The staff is generally regarded as friendly and accommodating, and the club offers a pleasant setting with good amenities, including a clubhouse with dining options. However, some visitors have noted issues such as difficulty booking morning tee times, slow pace of play, and occasional maintenance concerns, which can detract from the overall experience.

First time at Sandy Burr Country Club and I had an amazing experience. Came here with a client and a few of his friends who had played here before, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The course is very well laid out — a nice mix of drivable holes and longer challenges. The greens were in excellent shape and rolled true. I’m still in my sophomore year of golf, and shooting under 100 on a brand-new course felt like a big win. Even when I mixed up my Titleist AVX with another player’s ball, everyone laughed it off — just part of the game. The pro shop had a solid selection of merch, and th…

For early May, the greens were fast and in great shape. The fairways were good as well. However the roughs were a game breaker for sure . I’d come back tomorrow if I could, a great course, reasonable pricing. Great place to get a beverage and food as well. Peace

Having played this course a few times, I can confidently say it’s one of my favorites. The hole design poses subtle challenges and opportunities. The conditions are superb, from the fairways to the green: this is one of the most beautiful courses in the area. The native areas and wetlands are also integral to the course. Overall an amazing course. Donald Ross’s legacy is well preserved here.

DONALD ROSS!!!! This golf course is one of his many jewels. Layout is amazing, very walkable, Some difficult holes requiring precise tee shots and approach shots. Lots of undulating greens. The course itself is in great shape, greens are firm, tee boxes are healthy. Fairways were all dry despite all the rain. Also a very good value. I highly recommend Sandy Burr

We’ve held our charity golf tournament at Sandy Burr year after year, and it has always been an incredible experience. In 2020, right before the lockdown, my wife and I also renewed our wedding vows here, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The course is beautifully maintained, the staff are outstanding, and the food is absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond every time. We can’t recommend Sandy Burr highly enough!

We had our wedding at Sandy Burr last weekend and it was the perfect venue for us. Debbie the event coordinator was incredibly kind from the moment we were interested and she really made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. The space itself was beautiful and perfect for our smaller wedding of 60, but you could easily fit more! I really loved that the venue didn't need many decorations, had accessible bathrooms, had great places to take pictures right on site AND you absolutely cannot beat the price. All in all, 10/10 for us!

Greens were recently punched but the rest of the course is in great shape. Hole 9 ordering doesn't work. I tried twice with no response. Just get a hot dog. Pro shop guy was very irritable. The range is just a net that is maybe 25 yards. It's not much but did the job.

My home course. Love Sandy Burr. Typically we’ll maintained. They keep it open late and open it early in the season. Reasonable prices and generally can get a tee time. Starts with 2 par 5s which is fun. My rec is to play without a cart, it’s a walking course really but up to you.

Great day at Sandy Burr. Walking only today but not a horrible walk there are a couple good sized hills. Back 9 greens rolling better than the front. Will definitely be back

I've played this course before and it's a fun track and definitely worth checking out. That said, booking a decent morning tee time is nearly impossible. I plan to play on Father's Day (6/15/2025) and I stayed up until midnight on 6/10 to snag a prime Sunday spot the moment reservations opened. Unfortunately, the only available times before noon were 5:40 AM and 6:00 AM. Pretty disappointing considering the effort to book early. It would be great if the course could improve access to morning tee times. Maybe by expanding availability or offering staggered booking windows for weekends and holi…

Been playing here for years and it is in the best shape I have seen it. The course plays well and has some challenging holes. Good size clubhouse for after and the back deck has an amazing view as well.

$100 including cart. Tee time got bumped and no explanation, arrived and asked why. Club decided to allow a 18 hole bramble to commence at 1:30. 6hr play time, players throwing up on the course. Pre-made sandwiches had hair in them, no gloves by anyone making food, even the bartenders had gloves on. Will not be coming back and I encourage others to look elsewhere.
