In summary

Silver Oak Golf Course in Carson City is praised for its friendly and accommodating staff, well-maintained course, and unique layout featuring a diverse front and back nine, with scenic views and interesting challenges. The clubhouse and amenities, including an automobile-themed decor and reasonably priced food and beverages, add to the positive experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with course conditions due to ongoing construction and occasional overcrowding, as well as isolated incidents of poor player etiquette affecting the overall enjoyment.

Played here yesterday with my son and really enjoyed our day. First off the staff here were exceptional. From the pro shop to the bar tender to the marshal they were so friendly and helpful. My son’s girlfriend left her purse in her cart and we got a half hour away and had to go back for it and although they were closed by that time the cart guys and the woman who bartended and the office person and the marshal all went all out to find her purse when all they must wanted was to go home I am sure. They were fabulous hosts at this really nice course. And the golf course is really nice too. A to…

Loved this course. Tucked up at the northern end of Carson City, quite the gem. Front nine and back nine play completely different. Front is flat layout. Back is a climb up. Will defines play here again when visiting. Oh and I forgot to mention, the club house and driving range is automobile themed. Old gas station relics, old cars, and a 50's inspired diner look in the club house. Will probably ho there just for lunch, looks fun.

Best course in Carson City!! Silver Oak Golf Course in Carson City is undoubtedly the crown jewel of the town's golfing scene. From the moment you arrive, you're met with a sense of excellence that extends throughout your experience. The staff here sets the bar high, providing a level of service that's unmatched. The maintenance crew's dedication is evident in the pristine condition of the course, while the enthusiastic bar crew adds a vibrant energy to your post-game celebrations. My wife and I played a very nice 18 yesterday. The course is in great shape. The staff members were all super friendly and professional. The course has some interesting and unique holes. One hole on the back nine is temporarily shortened from a par-4 to a par-3 due to construction. I had no problem with this -- it is nice to see a course that is making the investment to improve the player experience. Highly recommended.

Great time on this course. Not severe, greens good shape. Moved along well. No mosquitos compared to Valley floor clubs this year. Definitely a top course regarding municipal courses. No GPS on the gas powered carts which are needed for the 4 or 5 holes up the mountain. Friendly staff too.

Today, I received clear permission from the clubhouse to hop on from my house and play the back nine at Silver Oak. I was walking the course alone, playing respectfully and at a steady pace. Immediately after I began, a group of elderly men behind me started hitting into me — and it kept happening. The first incident happened while I was in the rough taking practice swings. A ball landed just five yards away from me. I was caught off guard — confused about who these men were and why they were hitting toward me while I was clearly still playing the hole. I let it go and continued. But after I…

Absolute garbage. Played this course many times in the past. Was usually good. Website says $65 for 18 after 10am. We were charged $71.75 at 11:33. One in our foursome could only play 9 and asked for some kind of discount. Absolutely not the “gentleman” behind the counter said. Course is in shitty shape. Construction all over the back nine. Tee boxes dead or swampy. Cart path detours everywhere. The greens were nice but that’s it. Will not be back… ever

Listen. There is a lot of places to golf up and down NORTHERN NV. This is by far my favorite course, and actually have made it my course as I decided to become a member. This place goes above and beyond and the treatment from all the staff is friendly. You constantly see them working on the course to better the conditions. Being an avid golfer, and the drinker (on the course) they hands down have the best price of beer and liquor here. I know some others may entice they have a cheaper green fee, but when you compare the rest the food and beverages are hands down cheaper, and better at SILVER O…
