In summary

St. James Bay Golf Club is frequently praised for its challenging and scenic golf course, friendly and accommodating staff, and clean, spacious accommodations. Many guests appreciate the resort's remote and relaxing setting, as well as the quality of the on-site restaurant. However, some visitors have experienced issues with billing errors, maintenance of certain facilities, and found the resort to be somewhat isolated with limited nearby dining options.

The staff at St James golf/resort was outstanding. It was clear that they were a bit understaffed, but they were hustling the whole time so no issues for guests. We had a plumbing issue in our first room and were able to be relocated on a busy weekend within 3 hours. The cleaners did a great job in a hurry to get us another condo, which was greatly appreciated. Also enjoyed the staff at the restaurant on site, all were friendly and the food was very tasty. Prices were good and portions were huge! The golf course is challenging but fun. The greens were in excellent condition. My only suggestion…

Weekend golf getaway - Feb 2026 Enjoyed the beautiful golf course and the spacious on site villa. Later received a CC fee of $60 for a pet fee. We Immediately reported to resort manager Sabrina that we do not own a pet and we live in a community that does not permit pets. I also reminded Sabrina that the neighboring villa had a dog that barked constantly and housekeeping most likely mixed up room numbers. Sabrina would not remove the pet fee. Reported to CC dispute the charge . This matter now has tarnished my view & experience of this resort. I understand people make mistakes, however to not…

Nice resort to stay at and very reasonable for stay and play! My husband loves to golf and he got in as many rounds as he could in the 2 days and golf 1 more before we left! We stayed in a villa as we travel with our pet and loved it. Everything was as it should be so no service really was required. St. James Bay is in an area by itself, we did spend time on St. George Island as well which was also enjoyable. I enjoy shops and Carrebelle is an older small town and off season things seemed to be closed. Side note I did take a road trip to Panama City Beach it's a bit of a drive but passed some…

This is a hidden gem along Florida’s forgotten coast. The course is beautiful. Challenging but fun. Pro shop was great , wonderful selection at the bar. The food was alright. Lunch menu was better than dinner. Nonetheless , I would recommend this to anyone who is into golf & pickle ball. Overall 8/10 experience . Can’t wait to come back !

This delightful pristine golf oasis boasts more than just a champion course. The staff and general manager ensure each persons stay is a treat. Bruce and Lisa take care of each detail and a few one may not even have thought of! Amazing management and encompassing treatment. The rooms and facilities are immaculate! The chef on site is a true genius. Delicious food and great fun whether on the course or evening activities; there’s never a dull moment. We plan to make this an annual vacation!

I recently stayed at St. James the weekend before Christmas and it was absolutely amazing! The villa was spacious and clean, and it had a laundry room! The location is remote, quiet, and very relaxing. The office staff and Crooked River Grill employees are very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely spend another self-vacation here!

Villa was very nice and comfortable, we stayed 2 nights. Lisa and Terry were very helpful and accommodating which made our trip very relaxing and enjoyable. The golf course was very demanding and challenging. We played the course twice and moved up one set of tees from where we would normally play. We also got to play pickleball with some of the residents who were extremely pleasant and fun to play with. Overall a very nice experience. The resort has only one restaurant, the food was good but was limited. we were told the next closest restaurant was about 25 minutes away. The resort is seclude…

Staff was exceptionally friendly and informative. Coach and rest of staff made us very comfortable! Now about the room. It was roomy, clean and attractive. However, couch and chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Not enough coffee/ tea supplies for duration of stay. Also, taking or trash bags to dumpster at end of stay was totally inappropriate. The golf course was challenging and in good shape! Over all we enjoyed our stay despite some minor inconveniences.

This resort is truly a hidden gem on the Forgotten Coast of Florida. From the super friendly staff, the wonderful and tasty entrees in the restaurant, the clean and modern accommodations in the villas to the most important features for us…a delightful, fun and challenging golf course. The stay and play packages are a wonderful bargain offering unlimited play. As self described golf nuts, we played 36 holes each full day of our stay. The pride taken by the entire golf staff and maintenance crews is on full display throughout the stunning, beautiful course. We have stayed here twice in the past…

Big newer looking rooms. Nice that bottles of water provided. Voluminous emails of information confusing, yet worker at location lacked basic information, map and directions to specific unit absent. Maintenance of unit marginal( shower condition, leaky toilet flapper, finishes condition ). No spare garbage bag, only 1 extra toilet paper roll per bathroom. Weather was cool, but no extra blankets provided.

The condos are dated and should be avoided. The villas are nice. The golf course is above average. Prices went up a lot with new management - likely will not last. Was a good value and may be again when current inflated prices don’t work out for keeping the place going.
