In summary

Stonewall Golf Course is often praised for its challenging and unique layout, which includes both ball and disc golf options, set in a scenic and hilly terrain. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the relatively low cost for the experience offered. However, some reviews mention issues with course maintenance, such as rough greens and fairways, and note that interactions with management could be more courteous.

New ownership working hard on making this course great! It has serious potential. I played on a Tuesday morning and I basically had the course to myself. Some holes are quirky, you have to be able to shape the ball, make good club selections off the tee,and hit from various lies. The greens are in good shape. I like this track and will play it again without question.

Love playing here! Little bias in there because I grew up playing here but it truly is a fun and challenging golf course. Don't read the old reviews because the course has changed hands. I have played golf all over the southeast and I still love coming home and playing here. The challenge is like no other. Can't miss by much on the front and all throughout the course it really is risk reward golf. Wouldn't recommend walking it. You'll know why by hole 5. The new ownership has done a tremendous job maintaining the course and keeping the cost down for patrons. Anyone complaining you don't get wh…

Disc Golf course is unbelievable. This course is surreal. Very long, very hilly, mostly open, and beautiful. Everyone super friendly and chill. The longest in the country at over 12,000 feet and the only course in NC that shares with a ball course. 16 dollars for a round which gets you use of a golf cart. Honestly a great deal imo.

For a public golf course, this was pretty fun. It has rolling hills and is definitely a challenging and heavily wooded course. Keep your whits about you because we did run into several snakes, on land and in the water traps. There was also no on course bathroom, so use the one at the clubhouse as often as you can. We got a groupon that included cart rental and 18 holes, so check that out. It was a fun way to spend a Saturday.

Played here for first time today. The guys in the clubhouse were very friendly and explained many holes. I really dont think 27 bucks is a bad price at all for this place. The fairways weren't plush and the greens weren't stellar however they were both acceptable. The unique layout make the price of admission well worth it. Looking forward to many return trips. Thanks Stonewall for a great day!

Love traveling there for disc golf. Its a very challenging course that plays along the ball golf course. The elevation changes are extremely challenging, especially considering the distances. The staff has always been friendly and the facility is kept really clean. I really appreciate that they have allowed disc golfing there and am always negotiating with the family on getting a day to travel and play up there. (I drive from Chapel Hill)

First time playing this course. Played on 1/31/15, not a bad little course. This course is very hilly and requires pinpoint shots for most of the holes. The greens were in descent condition for this time of the year. This course could use better yardage markers, most were hard to find. All in all not bad for the price. I'll come back again...

The course itself was not in bad shape, but the owner/clubhouse attendant is extremely rude. I was the first group out in the day and it was my first time at the course so the guys advice was to play fast so we don't slow anyone down. We're a two some and there was never anyone waiting for us. Even making a tee time was a poor experience. The whole time I felt like an unwelcomed guest in a course where only regulars get a friendly welcome. Stay away from this one and go to Hemlock. Better course n much friendlier ppl.

Golfed here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Course is hilly, with very narrow fairways, which presents a challenge for a hacker like me. Overall, the greens and fairways were in decent condition, although a few of the greens and tee areas need some attention. Cart paths were VERY STEEP and rough in spots --- be careful! (The cart path at the 8th hole was blocked off just past the tee area, making for a long, convoluted drive to the 8th green.) Staff was friendly. A nice "no frills" public golf course.

I think this course is underrated. Cart paths are terrible and the grounds aren't kept like you would find at a nicer course but the terrain is challenging and the design seems really well done. Rarely crowded and always very quiet and secluded feeling. Makes for a relaxing day out.

Super fun course. Leave your driver at home! Great for strong iron players. Greens a little rough but overall a great place. Unique layout! Friendly staff! Go play!

Hate playing here anymore which is a shame . It's a beautiful course and very unique. Just some of the staff is awful, owner is very nice but needs to get better help. I've been to better kept courses but also a lot worse kept ones, this one's middle of the road. It's a little pricey for what you get, especially for how the staff treats you. The staff also needs to learn how the pricing works. They had special pricing that started at 4, I showed up at 4:05 and had to argue to get that price. The staff member argued that pricing didn't apply because it wasn't 4. If they would get rid of the big…
