In summary

Sudden Valley Golf & Country Club is praised for its beautiful setting, well-maintained fairways, and distinct layout between the front and back nines, offering both flat and challenging terrain. The staff is noted for their friendliness and helpfulness, and the course's proximity to nature adds to its charm. However, some visitors have experienced slow pace of play and occasional issues with course marshaling, while others mention concerns about the condition of certain greens and the presence of geese.

This course is a beauty. Very playable front 9 and a very different but equally as enjoyable back 9. Tees, fairways and greens were all in good condition. Also, the breakfast burrito was terrific! Would loved to have seen a course marshall out there to keep up the pace of play. Had a painfully slow group in front of us that wouldn’t let us play through and had fallen 2-3 holes behind the group in front of them.

There's something special about Sudden Valley in general, and the golf course is no exception. The staff are friendly, they learn your name, and they are very helpful. The course is beautiful and you often play along side deer!

First time out to this course yesterday and really enjoyed it! Lucked out with the weather as it was warm and dry, a treat for this time of year. Interesting layout for the front and back nines. The front plays easier with forgiving fairways but a bit extra length. Some tight dog legs on the back but not punishing. A few of the greens were in rough shape but I'm curious to see how everything plays in the summer. Pace was very fast as we were a few of the only people on the course, luckily. The gentleman in the pro shop was friendly and accommodating. Probably a five star course after fixing th…

It is a great lakeside golf course surrounded cozy houses. However, I recommend this course tee times after 10am in Fall season. Early morning, it has wet greens and fairways by morning dew.

Excellent golf course in a beautiful setting. Worth the drive from Seattle in my opinion. Especially with how crowded some courses are these days. Sudden valley is in great shape at the moment with really nice greens and fairways. There's some challenging holes especially on the back 9. Some really tight tee boxes will test your game for sure. Course is ran very well and usually finish in around 4 hours which is actually pretty good these days for a public course in my opinion. I'd recommend this course to anyone looking for a better public track in the Seattle area.

I can’t speak to the quality of the course when it comes to playing since I don’t actually play. However, the biggest perk of having this course in our community is that Thursdays and Saturdays after 6pm in the summer you can walk the part of the course near the lake. They open it for ‘foot golf’ (people playing golf with soccer balls) but you can just walk it if you like (i.e. no purchase necessary). Just park by the club house and start at hole 1 and follow the direction up to hole 9. You will walk right by the lake in areas that are usually out of reach for ‘regular people’ (who don’t play)…

Fairways had excellent run out. Greens are firm and ran true. Always a great challenge. Great set up with two very different 9's.

Great course. In perfect shape all around. Both 9's play independently of one another (flat and water for the front, major elevation changes on the back). Breakfast burritos in the restaurant onsite were STELLAR. Highly recommend getting the hot sauce made in house too.

We usually like playing this course but our past round on the Sept 13th was 5 hours and 45 minutes! That was shorter than it should have been as we passed a foursome as they went in to get food between holes 9 & 10. Otherwise it would have been nearly 6 hours! We were waiting after every shot for at least 8 to 10 minutes so it was brutal. We talked to the staff member in the pro shop and his response was "sorry, but we're short staff as kids have gone back to school so we didn't have anyone to marshal the course". We're not sure that was the issue or having too many players and not enough time…

Beautiful golf course with the view of the lake. Greens are in good condition as are the sand pits and fairways. My only complaint is the amount of geese poop you have to play through. One hole I was so grossed out I had to quickly move through the area so I wouldn't get sick. I wish there was some way they could either get rid of the geese or pick up the poop daily.

Front 9 beauty, wide open. Back 9 beauty, wooded hills. Rather green fairways for late August. Fall greens work has helped drainage and conditions for play should be good through winter. Though staying in fairways helps considerably.

Beautiful course, front nine and back nine total different experience. Just the greens are not in their best shapes, hopefully with weather getting better, green should improve.
