In summary

Sugar Hill Golf Club is appreciated for its challenging and scenic layout, with a well-maintained course that offers good value for money. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the staff's attitude and customer service, as well as issues with pace of play and course maintenance, particularly regarding bunkers and greens. Despite these criticisms, the club remains a popular choice for those seeking an affordable and engaging golfing experience in the area.

Very hilly and narrow course which challenge your golf skills. As a public course, they maintained well and price is affordable. Just be careful driving your carts and hitting your balls. The pro shop and cafeteria is small but very friendly staff.

I play at several golf courses in Georgia and this is the first golf course that I have ever inquired about a rider fee and the rider fee is the same cost as playing. I believe that this is the reason why this course is potentially rated 2.9 I have played at Course is like Château Elan Saint Ives Chattahoochee golf club Chicopee Woods. All of these courses are at least 100 times better than this course and none of these courses charge the same rate for a rider as they do for a player I think that it is bad for business. I just wanted to leave this review for anybody who is interested in potent…

I had a very disappointing. experience at this golf course. We arrived before our tee time. but about 5 minutes prior, the marshal aggressively yelled at us and refused to allow us to load our golf bags onto the cart. his behavior was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. We made inappropriate comments such as telling us to go to a$200 course instead of a $40 course" and even threatened to blacklist us and not allow us to play. He continued yelling and using offensive language, which made the situation very uncomfortable. Because of this treatment. We requcested a refund and left immediat…

The course is very beautiful and it’s fun to play, however the attitude of the staff is horrendous. When my party was getting carts we were exactly on time for our tee time. Yet, the staff member was overtly annoyed and made a comment about us being late, which we were not. Then, while playing, our cart reported my party as being 15 min ahead yet the Marshall came and told us we were holding people up. When we told him our cart said we were ahead he said “I don’t care, play faster.” When we did we were then on top of the people in front of us. The Marshall then proceeded to follow us to every…

Absolutely one of the best values in the Metro area. The course is fair from the white tee box but from the blue box, the course becomes harder with the hills and blind shots. During the mild temp months the course has always been in great condition but in the summer, the greens will brown and have damaged areas. With that, this city owned course is worth the drive and the money. They also have new carts with gps and fair geo fencing alerts. The only negative is the bar area with inferior local beer and bottom shelf whiskey. I would highly recommend before TCA in Dacula and Royal Lakes in Oakw…

The course is fairly well maintained and very challenging for beginners. Accurate shots are needed. Pace of play was terrible, took 2.5 hours to get through first 7 holes (3:20pm tee time on a Saturday). We ended up quitting after 12 holes and 4 hours. Won't be back.

Compared to all of the courses I have played in Oklahoma, sugar hills was the most fun and challenging. I suggest bring your own clubs as the rentals are not so great. But other than bad rentals it was a beautiful course.

good course for the money, no cart girls present Edit 11.26: Sugar Hill Golf Course was a major letdown. The course conditions were some of the worst I’ve seen — bunkers had no sand, fairways and greens looked poorly maintained, and there was zero effort put into keeping the course playable. Balls were getting lost everywhere because nothing was kept up. The pace of play was even worse. By the time we reached the back 9, we were cut in line and “scheduled” behind two amateur golfers, even though there were already two slow groups right in front of us. No marshal, no oversight, no effort to m…

had a great time the golf shop was super nice there was a bit of attitude from cart guy when i finished my round and returned my cart there was some younger guys there in pink shirts very polite and respectful overall great experience definitely will come back. hopefully the cart guys can work on being more polite i fell like they are the main reason for so many negative reviews. its a beautiful course. better attitude from cart guys and i think your rating will jump to what it should be.

My husband and 8 yo son absolutely loved this course today. They’ve been enjoying weekly golfing around Georgia and this course has been their favorite. The prices are reasonable, the staff hospitality, beautiful long freeways and a clean facility.

Great course. Challenging for high handicap players but always fun. Course is well maintained and the staff is always friendly. Great value, overall.

I only play here about once a year during a church tournament and the course has a lot of nice views and seems to be in decent condition. It's super hilly though. I can't really comment on the staff and service since tournaments are a little different than normal circumstances.
