Went on a Scouts of America camping trip. The camp area was awesome, open space, and a shaded area. And the restrooms and shower area ,, has to be the best of them all. I will not spoil it ,, you have to go check this Park out for yourself.

On vacation in Memphis and we always like to check out the various state parks in the areas that we visit. Drove through the campground area as we do have a camper, but flew into Memphis for this vacation. Looks like a newer bathhouse. Sites seemed to be set up to be parallel to the road on many of them. Some were butted against the woods, which we like, but not all sites were roomy. Chucalissa Indian Village and C. H. Nash Museum is within the park.

Nice shady spots and pretty level.New bathrooms were 5* clean and spacious. And AC in 90+ degrees was a big plus. I met both park rangers and very hospitable. If you are camping there you can go to Choctaw Indian Village There for free. Ran by Univ. Of Memphis. Mounds and replica hut along with an interesting museum.

I found this place in 2015, and have stayed at the campground many times since then. The bathhouse has been renovated, and there are laundry facilities as well. The staff at the visitor center are friendly and knowledgeable. The convenience of staying at a campground within a major American city cannot be over-emphasized! Chucalissa, a prehistoric archaeological site also within the park, is well worth visiting, and campers are admitted at no cost! An excellent place with nice people.

We went every memorial Day and stayed the weekend on the camp ground. Played softball kickball. We did bring our own equipment. They have showers and it was clean. The park keeper did complain about our barbie clock radio. Other wise we had fun.

We spent several nights in this hidden gem. The sites are well maintained. There is laundry and ice are available on site. Firewood is available at the visitor center. The host is great. The host is very friendly and outgoing. She is knowledgeable about the area and the happenings in the park. When storms were expected she made sure to let us know in time so we could store the gear that we brought that couldn't get wet. (We were in a tent). Later a ranger came around to remind us where the emergency shelter was located.

Pretty little campground in southwest Memphis. Unfortunately it’s in the middle of a scary part of town. The campground is nice with water and electric sites and an awesome locked bathhouse with an attached locked laundry. Both need a code to unlock. Best shower I’ve had since I left Texas eight months ago. The local law enforcement and rangers patrol often at the campground so it feels safe despite the surrounding area. There was one campground host in an old rv covered by a blue tarp. It was not hooked to any water so I assumed the plumbing didn’t work. I saw the host washing dishes at a…

Very outdated facilities. Campsite was fairly nice. The mounds was worth the visit, behind the camp host area. Unfortunately, this state park could be a really nice park with some simple upkeep. Hopefully, it will find monies to do so. Really wasnt as noisy as I thought it would be, considering the location. Kinda rough ride to get there, especially in camper.

Good stuff- pretty good location for travelers - not too far off the highway. Good location if you are visiting the area for a day or two. Ranger is very close to campsites and makes the rounds often. Lots of trees and very little noise. Dump station has nice big pull through and well kept. Reasonable camp fees for a state park. Bad stuff- portable showers and portapotty. Bathhouse is closed and there are little trees growing from the gutters. Our water spigot handle was missing.... challenging to turn water on and off. Grass was high and lots of low tree limbs- hazard for tall RVs.

Beautiful Park and I love the history. The camp site was well maintained with all the hook ups and a dump station. I can't wait to stay longer next time. And if you need a city night we were able to Uber to Beale Street for dinner and drinks.

We camped for 4 days at Fuller in November in order to visit Memphis. The lovely little campground is great for that. Nicely forested, well maintained, regularly patrolled by park rangers, spacious lots, water and electricity at every site. Special mention of the renovated bathroom. Only drawback is the permanent rumble of freight trains, air planes and road traffic. But for that you are at 20 minutes from the center of Memphis. We walked the Discovery Trail to the Chucalissa Indian village and associated museum: delightful. The trail is a bit overgrown but still easy to spot and easy to walk.

I had such a great time! The campground is clean, quiet, and all around wonderful! We stayed at the campsite next to the host, Robert, and he was so friendly and helpful! We walked the Pond Loop Trail and had a fantastic time. Watch for fire ants though!! The Chucklissa Center and trail were so informative and exciting too. Highly recommend staying here!
