In summary

Templewood Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic setting and challenging layout, featuring elevation changes and well-maintained greens. The staff is frequently noted for their friendliness and accommodating nature, contributing to a positive experience for many visitors. However, some golfers have expressed concerns about inconsistent course maintenance, particularly with the fairways, and occasional management issues. Despite these criticisms, the course is generally considered a good value and enjoyable for both beginners and experienced players.

After paying, loading the cart, and about to start the round; some guy comes and accosts us for having our two young children ride along with us (which was disclosed to the desk when paying, with no objection). Says he needs to get his sister out here… when she arrives we are given a line about safety and insurance limitations and that the employee didn’t know. I guess all the employees last season did not know either? It’s hilarious that we play courses all over New England with this same set up and never have an issue, but this torn-up back-woods course wants to discriminate against the nex…

Nice hilly course, friendly folks at the pro shop. Good prices for summer rates in MA. Played mid June, 2024. The greens were in great shape, fast and true. Conditions were a bit dry so hard to hold greens on approach shots. Fairways were dry with somewhat patchy grass, not hard to hit off but I played preferred lies when sitting on hardpan areas. Long uphill holes and downhill holes so its a tough walk if carrying clubs. Bring extra balls if you don't drive straight! Some narrow areas and dry, downhill runs and sloping fairways will put your balls into trees or bushes. Good value, fun course.

First time golfer so take this review for that. We had such a nice time. The staff were pleasant and accommodated me with recommendations as a newbie. The course appears to be well manicured. The golf carts worked well and our group had a nice time.

This track was really nice. I think we played just before they plug aerated the greens. Besides not being able to properly putt, it was great.

They charge $20 to walk 9 on a weekday, which is nice. The layout is interesting, elevation changes, doglegs, and medium to small greens. I'd have given it 5 but for some bad irrigation spots, while being crusty in other spots. Don't wear your good shoes. And the fairways were a little rough maintenance wise. But, you know, $20 to walk 9. Greens were subtle and rolled true, but they were hard and not receptive, so play to the front.

Nice combination of wide fairways and challenging terrain. The greens were true and in great shape. A north county gem.

Had 830 and 840 tee time reserved 5 days out. Arrived there to an "impromptu" tournament that day, let others with carts out ahead of us at oir tee time, was charged for a cart, walked the front 9, got money back and left, terribly managed day. Hopefully not the norm!

I have played this course several times in the past 3 years .Yesterday I was a single playing it was the best enjoyed round for me this year! The gentleman at the club house was really nice there was a Twosome that was going out before me and they had no problem letting me go ahead of them .The condition of the course was great and its a nice layout. The greens were in awsome condition. The views are great and I wasn't rushed or had to wait at all during my round .For a course that doesn't have much irrigation for the fairways with the drought we have had they were good.I love coming here and…

Templewood is a nice course, had a lot of fun playing there over there. Nice, friendly staff, carts and cart paths a little rough, but a fun course.

This is a terrific course. As close to mountain golf as possible in Central Massachusetts. Don't let the negative reviews sway you. The conditions improve yearly. It's not private course but its good public course condition. Family run by nice people. incredible views. The front 9 has one strange uphill hole, but overall its a good course. I've played well over 100 courses and know what I'm talking about.

Always pretty open and quick pace. Has great views of Mount Wachusett and looks amazing in the fall. Rates are fair and owners are nice. Greens are well kept fairways well they try but New England summers get to some of them always.
