In summary

The 500 Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, enjoyable layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors in the Phoenix area. Many appreciate the value it offers, especially given the rising costs of golf in Arizona. However, some visitors have noted inconsistencies in bunker conditions and greens, as well as dissatisfaction with the course's rain check policy. Despite these issues, the overall experience is often described as positive, with the course set in a scenic, house-free environment.

The 500 Club Golf Course is an amazing course and one of the best values in the Phoenix area. The course is always in great shape, and every time I come back it feels like there’s been another small upgrade or improvement—clearly a place that takes pride in continuous improvement. The layout is fun and fair, conditions are consistently solid, and it’s just an enjoyable round from start to finish. The bar and food are excellent, and the service staff—including the cart girls—are always friendly, upbeat, and attentive, which really adds to the overall experience. Whether you’re a local or visiti…

For snowbird season, the price for the money is hard to beat. I thought the course was in really good shape. The tees and fairways were divot free. The greens were interesting. I'm no grass expert but the grass seemed different. Very short and hard. Holding a shot was almost impossible. The sand traps were iffy as well. Very little sand in most of them. While it looks like a desert course, the desert was mostly free of bushes and cacti. The pace of play was OK for a Friday afternoon. We played the front in 2 hours and the back in 2 1/2 hours. We never saw a ranger. The practice area was hea…

My friends and I enjoy golfing here, though to get a tee time because it’s so popular. Course is decent but bunkers need work and greens can be vastly different. Price gets a little big for the winter. Definitely better than the legend at arrowhead for price and customer service.

We have golfed here a couple of times while visiting the area. Course was in great shape, even after a rainy day.

Played in Feb 2025. Course was in good condition. Fairways were plush and greens were rolling fast. The rough was brown and matted down significantly making any lie that landed in there very tight. Bunkers were very inconsistent- some were fluffy which allowed you to splash it out and others looked fluffy but were actually not which caused open faced bunker shots to sail across the lightning fast greens. Pro shop and grill were pretty barebones but the beverage cart did show up 3 times during our round which was nice. Payed $110 for twilight and felt like we overpaid a bit. Had a good time but…

Great course. At this point, my go-to local course for rounds, the range and practice green. Well-maintained and staff has always been great.

Visited this course as part of a golf trip and would highly recommend this course. The course is in a park and as others have mentioned, there are no houses, which I love. Also, this plays more like a dessert golf course than some of the other resort courses in Phoenix. Layout is definitely interesting with at least two holes where there is the green is on an island surrounded by water, so it definitely will test your accuracy. Be prepared to bring some extra balls.

Great desert track! Challenging golf course with fast greens and lots of opportunities to score. In immaculate condition. Pace of play was fine. We waited on every hole but we played 18 in 4:15. It’s in a park so there are no homes anywhere. Great price too. You won’t find a better place at this price in Phoenix.

WOW what a truly beautiful and enjoyable golf course to experience! This course has some amazing views! The greens and fairways are perfect! If you know when you’re going it’s not a super hard course to play! This course is always on my list again for the next future! Great staff too! Thanks for the opportunity to play a great course!

Great course! Large open forgiving fairways with a few technical holes. Well maintained, only issue is the folks behind jumped the gun and started before there tee time so they were pushing us hard till we let them play through.

It was my first time at this driving range today and it isn't my favorite for that. Your looking into the sun in the morning and there is no shade at all, and the quality of the balls is on the lower side. (I had a few balls that had cracks down it and a bunch that were completely worn out) Looking forward to playing the course soon though it looked like it was in pretty good shape.
