In summary

The Campus Course at Texas A&M is appreciated for its challenging layout and well-maintained greens, which many find to be the highlight of the experience. However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the course's overall condition, citing issues like brown patches and unkempt areas, as well as concerns about customer service and communication from the management. While the staff is generally described as friendly, there are mixed reviews about the clubhouse facilities and the value for money.

Hey guys, Scottie Scheffler here. Usually, the golf course is my happy place, but today was just a grind for all the wrong reasons. The course itself has some potential, but the atmosphere is completely off, and it starts at the top. The manager, John, is just an incredibly unlikable guy. I’m all for following the rules and keeping up the pace of play, but there’s a way to talk to people, and then there’s the way John does it. He was remarkably rude and mean-spirited from the jump. It’s hard to focus on your lines or find a rhythm when the guy running the place is hovering around being condesc…

The Golf Club at Texas A&M is a challenging and well-maintained public course. The recent renovation has elevated it to a must-play, with fantastic, fast greens and a great layout. Friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere make for an excellent experience. Highly recommend!

It’s in rough shape now. I wish the greens crew and superintendents luck this season they have there work cut out for them. I emailed the assistant pros a week before the tee time and never heard back from either. So a little disappointed in that lack of communication. The staff inside the club house were nice. IMO The club house is also due for a renovation a lot of water stained tiles in the drop ceiling. Looking forward to my next experience at the golf club at A&M

Great place for weekend golf. Course is wide open so you don’t lose a lot of balls. Wide fairways that are well kept along with smooth rolling greens that are taken care of.

We've been golfing this course for years... The greens are always the best in BCS, the fairways are generally good, the rough is impossible, and the bunkers are trash. They've loosened the cart GPS restrictions (geo fence) a little bit, so it's not such a PIA to navigate the course. Overall the course is not attractive. If you're just sitting in the cart looking around at the course it's ugly. There are mounds of cut grass next to the fairway, lots of muddy areas and grounds keepers always tending, spraying, mowing, blowing, etc. It's too expensive for what you get, especially on a week day.

Save Yourself the Trip — This Course Isn’t Worth the Drive I’m not in the habit of writing bad reviews, but this experience deserves a warning for fellow golfers. My husband and I golf (well, he golfs — I ride along due to a shoulder injury) 2–3 times a month. We decided to make the drive to College Station to try this course after checking their website and booking a tee time. When we arrived, we were met by two starters — one pleasant, the other a bitter, crabby man who seemed personally offended that I was in the cart without clubs. Apparently, “riding along” requires special permission a…

I have had the opportunity to play this course a number of times over the past month and my opinion has changed. While I was originally underwhelmed, I have started to come around. The staff and check-in/starter experience have been nothing but positive for me (so far I haven't even been asked to share a cart, we had 3 in 3 carts). The course itself is quite interesting. Fairly short but very creative and allows for varying levels of risk taking. The tee boxes need to be leveled, but are generally in line with other muni courses I've played in Austin. The fairways do have some browning and pat…

The golf course is very nice and very challenging. Staff were friendly and helpful. The governors on the carts restrict access to much more of the playing area than is really necessary. The rough is impossible to play, unkept, and slows play. Only play here if you can hit every fairway and green.

On the 6th tee writing this review because it is very disappointing. Greens are 50% finely aerated dirt / bone dry seed and the rest of the green surfaces is slow and dry Bermuda that probably hasn't been rolled in awhile. No water in coolers and no beverage cart (presumably can't find someone to run it on a Saturday at a college somehow? It would be making a killing). Course just generally gives off a vibe that it is hurting very bad (can't afford to water greens?). Shame too, cuz this is such a great looking design and the fairways are in decent shape. A little TLC and it could really be mak…

Ladies in the front are very rude as well as Nate Uber and the older guy that’s the “Manager”. They don’t get the basic concept that i’m NOT sitting in a cart with someone i don’t know & i’m sure most people are uncomfortable with that idea. Never have i had to anywhere else either. I don’t see that in y’alls rules. If they don’t have enough carts that’s really not my problem thats a y’alls problem. Maybe if y’all would be respectful people would actually enjoy coming here. Definition of stuck up. It’s great to come in and that’s immediately what you have to deal with. Also kind of crazy how m…

This major university course could be, and SHOULD BE, so much better. It’s an interesting piece of land with lots of potential and nice views of Kyle Field and the TAMU campus, but the condition of the course is marginal. There are lots of brown patches in the fairways, the grass on several greens was going bad, the driving range landing area is an embarrassing dust patch, and the clubhouse is ready for a full reset. It’s a poor value for $70. I really wanted to like the course, both my daughters lived in the dorms next to it so I’ve been excited to try it, but I don’t think I’ll be back until…

The front desk staff are not the friendliest or most helpful. Was in town for a conference and got an afternoon tee time and unfortunately this is the first experience the customer gets of the course. There was no direction on where anything was. I paid through a 3rd party app and was expecting a receipt and where the first hole was. Unfortunately I was just told ok I got you and she moved onto the next person. This course is pretty wide open with minimal trees so balls are flying all over from other holes. Hole 10 runs along the driving range, so good luck. I would not play this course agai…
