In summary

The Summit Golf Club is highly praised for its well-maintained course, scenic views, and challenging layout, particularly on the back nine, which offers a thrilling and varied experience. Many appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the overall course conditions, including fast greens and good drainage. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about occasional issues with customer service, inconsistent greens, and pricing changes that impact the perceived value.

TL;DR A smashing golf course of two very different halves: the front nine is a polite handshake, the back nine a gin-fuelled conga line through the forest. I booked in at the last minute on a Tuesday morning in August, the sort of day when the sun behaves impeccably and the breeze remembers its manners. My companions for the round, let’s call them Brad and Chad, were the sort of chaps who wear mirrored sunglasses large enough to be visible from space, perched upside down on hats the size of satellite dishes. From the first tee, they treated me to a brief but pointed performance of Minnesota N…

This is a big man’s course playing from the back tees (7000 plus yds). Very scenic but extremely challenging as some holes required precision drives (like #12,13 & 14). Greens were running pretty fast considering it just rained. Fairways are good but bunkers are a mess due to Covid-19. Bring lots of balls if you tend to spray it all over. I still think you’ll love this challenging course.

Premier challenge! We played the Championship 18 today. Mostly long and slightly kinked 200+ blues, 4 500+, good size greens, a few very challenging, some long and wide open, as well as some bends, bunkers, water, alleys and a handful of deep drops, which means carts and downhill speed bumps - unless you like walking a lot of hills. It was a rewarding challenge that left minor room for mistakes. Greens and fairways well kept. We saw a handful of deer. Lots of room for play on the greens. You have to check out this course!

The summit golf course is a great course that has some great holes including one swinging over a canyon! Only downside to the course is that walking can be tough with the length of the holes especially when everyone else has golf carts and are right behind you.

Love this course! My favorite course around this area, big wide open fairways, very well maintained. I'm an early morning golfer and everytime I get there, people are out cutting the fairways and always making sure it's great for the day! If you want an open course and a little it of a challenge, I strongly recommend this course!! The back 9 gets a little tricky, but very very very fun!

I bought the players card to play this course during the summer. There was one day where we couldn't even play during open hours because the person working there "didnt want to let more people on because he was planning on going home soon" even though the course was open for another 5+ hours. I also liked to play the par 3 course but they closed it halfway through the season and didnt refund any of the money I paid for the players card. There were also multiple occasions when I showed up during open hours but the pro shop was locked and closed for the day. Its a nice course and the back 9 is f…

Great course. Narrow, back nine is very tough. Keep it straight and you can score really well. Drainage was terrific, you could hardly tell it has rained so much the last few days. Staff was helpful and fun to chat with. Definitely will be back to play again. Tee boxes were a little beat up from people not replacing divots and a couple of the greens looked like dartboards because of the lack of repairing ballmarks. But the course has plans to fix these items. Wonderful job.

Awesome place to go golfing with the boys on a nice sunny summer afternoon. Challenging course that’s extremely well taken care of with lots of hills in bunkers and other hazards that make it a challenging fun course.

Pasting response here for others: "Thank you for reaching out regarding my recent review. I appreciate the opportunity to provide more detailed feedback. I’ve been visiting The Summit for several years and have always considered it a fun and affordable course with some unique challenges. I chose not to go into detail in the public review, but I felt it was important to respond here to explain the reasoning behind my rating. One of the main reasons I continued to return to The Summit over the nearby Cannon Falls Golf Club was ease of getting a tee time and the overall value. Your course offe…
