In summary

The Timber Links at Denton is appreciated for its challenging layout, scenic elevation changes, and friendly staff, making it a unique golfing experience within an apartment complex setting. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, particularly rocky and bare fairways, slow greens, and confusing signage. The pace of play can be slow, and the course's condition has led to mixed opinions on its value for the price.

Well it was a perfect day for golf ! Best weather ever ! But this course was not managed well. We teed off at 230 did 9 holes by 530!!!! When I came around for 10 more people 2 more groups had started in front of us! The course is very tight fairways were ok, they did tell us greens were aerated you can put very hard and it might make to hole.

Great course! Highly impressed with level of difficulty and quality of carts Very hilly and enjoyable. I suggest this place!

I enjoy the elevation changes and the ability to get a last minute tee time. It’s got to be the most difficult course in the state when it comes to almost zero rough fringe. If you’re not on the fairway, it’s a drop. Forget about finding your ball and hitting from the off the fairways. The prices are good and it’s literally the only track in Denton. I sure hope to see the fairways improve but I’ve not seen any work to fill the holes or add grass to all the bare locations in the fairways. They are working to improve the greens but they have got to water and fertilize a lot more.

This place is a gem. The cart girls are fineeee and came through 4 times during my nine holes. The greens were very slow, but looked as if they were recently sanded. Layout of this course was amazing. Don't sleep on this course. I can see why it is highly ranked. Cons: confusing signage and parking for the course, not so friendly check in, and pace of play was brutal. Wanted to play more but had three foursomes waiting to tee off at the turn. Thanks to the two guys that let me pair up with them. The other people that had the 1pm tee time didn't want to pair up.

This course thinks it’s a nicer course than it truly is. There hasn’t been rain in days but there were muddy spots and torn up fair ways and directly off the greens. Tee boxes are over grown and more like roughs. Greens are very slow, it feels like you’re putting on carpet. The price to play was 74$ because the initial price was 55$ and then they added a 38$ cart fee for 2. I don’t think I would pay 20$ to pay here much less 74$. The course is very tight and challenging.I don’t think there’s a worst deal in the metroplex.

The manager has turned the greens to roll very nice. Great improvement over the year. The course is getting better each month.

The course is challenging with very narrow fairways and lots of blinds. The fairways were not in the best of shape, very dry, but the greens were in good shape.

Timber Links has potential, but right now it's a rough experience. The layout is crammed around an apartment complex with tight landing areas and exposed rock just beneath the surface of the fairways. Even after a month of heavy rain, the course is full of bare spots and barely playable. With 100*+ temps, it'll only get worse. And I am not sure why they think they will ever be able to grow the fairways on top of rock. It would take removal to ever have a chance at playable surfaces. The greens show some improvement from my last visit but are shaggy and painfully slow. Fairways are so rocky th…

My daughter and I move in 4 months ago. We love it! Newly renovated apartments and the rent is very reasonable. I hade a couple of maintenance issues, but they were taken care of in a timely manner. I highly recommend Timberlinks if you are looking!

It was a challenging course but not impossible to play even for beginners. Overall the course was well maintained but the sand bunkers could have been better and 2-3 holes had wet muddy areas and it had not rained. The staff was helpful knowing it was my first time playing at the course by giving me helpful tips on tackling the course. Look forward to playing again when visiting Denton.

So, I think it's priced accordingly. It's got some roughness because of all the hills etc. But I think if you're looking for a low cost 9 hole place and not a course where you're dodging balls coming from every other fairway, this is decent. The only thing I had a hard time with, was following where to go. I knew I needed to cross, but then after crossing roads, I'm like, ok now where. So that would be my only complaint. If I play again, I'll remember. Friendly staff, and clean carts etc. thanks

Hands down the best management and staff I've encountered at a golf course. The progress they've made to give us the best golf experience possible is unmatched. Also, there's a men's golf league starting in the spring so come join us residents and regulars!
