What People Say

In summary

Timber Lakes Golf Course is frequently praised for its beautiful and challenging layout, featuring a mix of open and wooded areas with numerous water hazards, making it a rewarding experience for golfers. The course is generally well-maintained, with friendly staff and reasonable rates, adding to its appeal. However, some visitors have noted issues with course management, such as slow pace of play and occasional inconsistencies in enforcing rules, which can detract from the overall experience.

Fantastic course. We were a slower group but played pretty well. We didn’t run into a single rude person and had a very enjoyable time. The greens needed cut so were quite slow but it’s February so I think they get a pass on that. Definitely looking forward to another round at the beautiful challenging course!!!

What an absolutely gorgeous course. Tons of water. Lots of trees. Flat areas. Some hills. And it's 18 holes. Super impressed. And other people I've talked with have said the same thing. A beautiful course with some really good challenges.

Very solid course. Great layout. Back nine is tight and requires you to hit some shots. Greens are great condition but a little soft. I imagine if they threw sand on it for a year or two and firmed them up things would get even harder there. Definitely worth playing.

One of my favorite local tracks! The back nine is very challenging and fun! I will definitely be playing here often.

Very scenic layout. Plenty of tree lined holes with comfortable sized openings. Grass could be a bit thicker. Couple of the lakes are a little too penal. All in all, a very enjoyable course

Very well designed and maintained course. Modern cub house with restaurant. Driving range with pitching area, and practice putting greens. Reasonable rates, and friendly staff. Easy on off I-55 near Route 66.

I'm really torn on this review. Although short staffed, employees were friendly and helpful. No problems there. $40 bucks for 18 holes with a cart on a weekday afternoon is reasonable-ish. Played solo, and was in a hurry. Decent layout. Front nine is pretty open and not overly long. The back nine is tight (tree lined) and quite a bit longer. Now the troubles... Strike 1 - I know there has been no rain in the area in some time, but I'm pretty sure I've never played a more baked out course. No fairway grass or rough to speak of. Literal hard pan. The green complexes were well maintained and in g…

Timber Lakes Golf Course is a public 18-hole course with two different 9-hole experiences. The 1st 9 holes have fairly wide fairways without too many trees to worry about. It has good length and only two water hazards. The back nine is cut into a dense forest with numerous water hazards. Straight drives and accurate approach shots are a must. Overall the fairways and greens were in great condition. The rough was long enough to make finding balls difficult. The gas-powered golf carts weren't the newest and the cart paths were rough in patches. The scenery on the back nine is wonderful. A reward…

Love this course. Very challenging. The changes in elevation are breathtaking. Can't wait to go back. Priced fair for the type of course you are stepping on to. If you want great scenery while golfing go here

Overall the golf course was nice. However, my poor rating is due to the groundskeeper, Terry. Me and two other dads had coached our kids in baseball since they were little, but now they’re grown with 2 boys in college and 1 in the Navy. All were back home this week so we decided to get together and enjoy a round of golf. We called Timber Lakes and informed them we have 6 people wanting to play together as a scramble and were advise that wouldn’t be an issue. We even booked two tee times to allow that. When we arrived at the clubhouse this morning the person working even acknowledged we were t…
