In summary

Fox Creek Golf Club has been praised for its friendly staff and challenging course layout, but many visitors have expressed concerns about the overall maintenance of the course. Common criticisms include overgrown fairways, poorly maintained greens, and inadequate signage, which have significantly impacted the playing experience for many golfers. While there are efforts being made to improve the conditions, the course currently faces challenges that may deter serious golfers.

I went there to hit balls on the range today. The staff is currently and have been working their tails off to get this place into amazing shape. Its great to see all the hard work and dedication thats being put into this place. The kitchen had their grand opening today too, which was a nice surprise. The onion smash burger and smoked Mac and cheese were incredibly tasty. Thank you Dan and the entire team for all that you guys are doing.

Last played here in 2000. As others have said, but I was hoping it would be different today, Sept 3, 2023, the course is in very bad shape. Played the black tees. Pro shop said the course was neglected by management for a few years and the owner is trying to correct that now. They also said this year a water main broke so they were unable to water greens and the grass burned out. Pro shop also said the owner is trying to start fixing the issues. Guess I’ll check back next year. Pictures are in order: 2nd green 3rd green and bunker 4th tee box 4th green 5th fairway bunker 5th green 6th green si…

Hate a to see a golf course so neglected. I can’t imagine it will be in business much longer. The course design is fine but the condition is almost unplayable. And definitely not for someone looking to take it even a little serious. Photos as an example, but there was very little to like about this course. We won’t be back for a few years. Maybe they can turn it around…

My husband and I came here, based on how the course looked online. It looks beautiful;however, this was by far the most under maintained course we’ve played this year. We’ve played 4 other courses in the last two weeks. On this course, we couldn’t find balls on the fairway, greens were overgrown as well, no difference between rough, green, or fairway in several places. Yardage markers were knocked down on several holes or missing. Also, we got lost and played the last 3 holes, due to the signs being extremely limited or not visible. The score card also lacks a course map. Completely unplayable…

Worst condition I've ever seen a golf course that required me to pay to play. Even the practice green was mostly weeds. Honestly though- the design and architecture is amazing. I'd bet this place used to be unbelievable. Such unique layouts for each hole. Just looks like they ran out of funding/help. It's settled in a really nice neighborhood and it's the only golf course with any interesting structure up near edwardsville. Hopefully someone with deep pockets fixes this place up.

Easily the worst maintained course I’ve ever been on. Fairways were overgrown with piles of cut grass all over. Bunkers overgrown with weeds and the grass on the greens was both long and patchy. On top of it they close the course at 7 when it doesn’t get dark until 8:30 in the summer. You can tell the course was great at one point in the far distant past, hopefully they can get it there one day again.

It's a shame that zero stars isn't an option. This course is a disgrace to the game of golf. The broken tees in my bag are worth more than this course. The "fairways" are more dirt than grass, and when you do land on grass it's about an inch and a half long and completely dead. The greens are completely covered in dirt patches and weeds. The bunkers are fully overgrown with grass and weeds. The tee boxes either look like they haven't been mowed or maintained all season or just rock hard dirt and dead grass. The driving range was horribly maintained and pretty much un-hitable. This course was a…

I went with my dad and from a distance the course looks beautiful but is very deceitful. The course is not very well taken care of. The grass needs to be cut lower. The fairways felt like how the rough should have felt and the rough felt like it was never touched by a lawn mower. I never thought id say this cause it doesn’t seem like it could happen but you can actually lose a ball in the fairway with how overgrown it was. The greens were like putting on carpet and half of them were dug up and inconsistent, very slow. Even the driving range was overgrown and was hard to set up for a practice s…

If there were an option for no stars I would have given this course a zero. The course used to be the nicest around many years ago and worth the money. You should be ashamed and embarrassed of the condition of the course and charging people what you do to play. 80 degrees, sunny and no wind and 6 cars in the parking lot should have been my sign to turn around. The greens are carpet, the bunkers have more grass in them than the fairways, the fairways are not actually fairways and the tee box's are laughable. If you do want to golf there I would do it soon because there is no way they can contin…

A $10 course surrounded by million dollar homes. However, they charge you $40-$50 to play. Not worth the money. If I lived in the course I would be ashamed. The course had a lot of potential and a great layout. However, the greens are dead you can’t tell between the fairway and roughs. It’s just bad all around bad. I would pick a different course in the area.

Played here today as Belk and Woodlands had events going on. I didn’t want to pay $44 but I also thought the course was going to be much nicer so I was OK with the higher price. Most of the fairways were not in good shape at all. The greens were good and it’s a challenging course, but for what we paid I really expected it to be in better shape.

Really bad condition. Very bad all over. Fairways covered in weeds. The greens are a combination of dirt, weeds and holes. It's hard to believe they charge to play this course. Should be cart fee only because no one maintains the course.
