In summary

The Woodlands Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout with water hazards, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for both golfing and events like weddings. The scenic setting and reasonable pricing add to its appeal. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and occasional management challenges, suggesting the need for better course oversight, especially on busy days.

Absolutely terrible oversight. 3 hours for 9 holes. Took another 2 hours to play 3 holes. Had a couple in front of us that had the entire course backed up and no one around yo tell them to pick it up. This course has potential. But the want for more money has got in the way of enjoying what you pay for. If you value your time and money go somewhere that actually cares about the experience and not just cashing in on your attendance. They pack as many people on the course they can then act like they made a mistake. But it’s every weekend. This place should and could be a nice place but it also n…

First time playing there but definitely not the last! This course is challenging and fun with quite a few water hazards but overall I enjoy the course. Course employees were friendly and helpful! If you haven't played here, I would recommend giving it a try!

Sitting on tee box 1, tee time was 4 minutes ago and there are still 4 people waiting to tee off in front of us. Edited for round time. 5 hours 30 minutes. I did like the layout of the course tho.

This course definitely needs a ranger. Fun course to play and in decent condition for a public course but we ran into drunken golfers wandering all over the course with errant shots, little if any golf etiquette, and a sense of general chaos. A marshal or Ranger especially on weekends and holidays would go a long way.

Wanted to rent their venue space for my wedding. Called 15 months in advance to try and tour/book. Was told they don't allow booking that far out and to wait until about 6 months to the date I want and call then. I spent weeks on their pricing page, decided on what worked best for us. Tried emailing 3 separate time with no response. Finally get Barbra on the phone, and she was incredibly rude. Their website says the rent the barn for ceremonies only for $1200. But don't let you book until last minute in case they potentially rent out to someone who wants the whole party room as well. They fals…

It crazy to me that I have just discovered this place after golfing in the area for 2 years . Fantastic layout, fun course! Price is right here for what you get, greens are in good shape , and run true. Alton has the best public courses around! I will be coming back very soon , and can't wait to see the course in spring time with some lush greenery . Heads up though , if you haven't been , you will be forced to make some good shots , or lose alot of balls!

Course was in pretty good shape for early Nov. The tee boxes need some work but the rest of the course was totally fine and playable. Overall the layout is challenging for the 15-25 handicap player. Lots of space so you're not losing a ton of balls on the front, but the back side is a little tighter. Greens are a bit small on some holes. If I was ranking the Alton courses it would probably be a distant second behind Spencer T, but ahead of Rolling Hills and the other tracks like cloverleaf and rock springs

The banquet center is nice but they did not have a real stage for dancing just an area of hardwood floor

Course was in good shape. The Saint Louis, Metro Senior Golf Association played there and had a great rate of $28! Be aware that they changed the order of play some soul years ago and some GPS systems have still not caught up to the new setting. Also, some of the signage on the course is inadequate and it’s easy to get lost between a few holes. Nice putting green Trying not to let how bad I played bias my review. Lol.

Woodlands has got some hills to play on. The entire course is not hilly, numerous holes are on flat ground. Water hazards are located throughout the course, adding to the challenge. There are a few sand traps by the greens. The course is kept up very well, especially considering the heat of summer and the dry spell. The fairways were thick and kept mowed. The greens was in good shape, saw no dead patches of grass on them. This is not a hard course, but there is enough hazards to make it fun. Due to the hills, I would not walk the course. Golf carts were clean and ran well. I played on a Sunday…
