What People Say

In summary

The University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Club is appreciated for its fun and challenging layout, well-maintained fairways, and the helpfulness of its staff, particularly Adam, who is noted for exceptional customer service. The course offers a good value and a pleasant setting with diverse terrain and mature trees. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about inconsistent greens, the condition of bunkers, and the lack of cart paths, with a few noting that the course and facilities have deteriorated over time. The impending closure at the end of the 2024 season has also been a point of sentiment for many long-time patrons.

im going to miss this place, as it is set to be closing at the end of the 2024 season. This is 1 of the 1st metro courses I ever played and have been coming here for many years. its not always in perfect shape, but the layout is alot of fun and the location is perfect imo. Here are some pics of from the last time I may ever play here but the memories of this place will last a lifetime. if you see this review before 2024 is over, I really suggest goin to get in 1 last round at the iconic twin cities golf course. The U of M campus won't be the same without it.

Went golfing yesterday. The grass on both the range and the course has grown back nicely in the past two weeks from night to day. Hardly any winter kill spots now and it looks like holes 2 and 8 were repaired with new sod since last year.

Wonderful layout & during it's time, was the best. Old buildings are wasted & course is lacking care it once got. Always a pleasure to play old courses. Will miss it!!

Enjoyed a nice round at U of M Les Bolstad with my BIL. We both played from maroon and it was not too bad. Fairways were in nice shape & greens were receptive and rolled true. Disappointed in fairways due to people not fixing divots. The new holes were fun (holes 1-3). Would definitely come back!

Great in city cross country skiing. Season ski pass is $25, a bargain when compared to MPS and Ramsey county. Groomed for classic and skate.

Outstanding Customer Service from Adam T! I had the pleasure of interacting with Adam on the golf course, and I can confidently say his customer service is second to none. From the moment we arrived, Adam went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring everyone had a great experience. Whether it was helping with logistics, offering helpful course tips, or just checking in to see if we needed anything, Adam handled it all with professionalism and a great attitude. You can tell he truly cares about the players and th…

The course presented a challenge, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to improve. Its varied terrain offers a distinctive experience compared to most courses. I'm giving this a 5-star rating because of the crew working there. While I waited for my wife to pick me up, Adam observed my game and likely noticed I was a beginner based on my attempt to chip onto the practice green. After I hit my last ball, he kindly approached me and offered to provide some advice. I gladly accepted, and he shared a few clear and helpful tips. I quickly noticed that with his guidance, my chipping becam…

The course is in great shape. You should come enjoy it before it is closed permanently next year. 😥

My go to course in the twin cities for public golf. Since they put covers on the greens during the winter, the conditions have gotten better and better. Be sure to check it out and the golf club that holds events there on Saturdays during the season.

Great course on the UofMN campus! Lots of trees so keep it in the fairway to stay our of trouble! Well maintained and priced reasonably. Staff are extremely kind and helpful. Can be slow play at times, but usually plenty of tee times available if booking a week out.

I don’t often write reviews but we Paid $85 dollars for two guys with a cart around 6pm. The course is in horrible shape, greens are very slow, every bunker was rock hard and water everywhere (I understand we got some rain but no effort giving at all. There are no cart paths what so ever. This course has really gone down hill! Plus the driver range has no good golf balls they are all junk no dimples and no good grass to hit off anymore. The staff is great!

Beautiful course. Today the greens were really rough, but I’m sure in a couple of weeks they will be much better.
