What People Say

In summary

Wasaga Sands Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a pleasant experience for many golfers. However, some visitors express concerns about the high cost of amenities, slow pace of play due to course layout, and issues with accessibility and customer service. Additionally, the course's management of tee times and parking has been criticized, impacting the overall experience for some players.

Had a chance to take a drive up to this course this weekend to play here. Despite other comments I had a fantastic interaction with the Marshalls on the course. It wasn't to busy. The greens are really nice with good putting lines. Course was it good shape, a few nice challanging holes.

I would advise not playing at this course , there are way better options around the course is to short so every hole is backed up. The owner Alex does not care about long time customer. The course allows careless people to use course and damage vehicles in parking lot and they don't take ownership or the necessary means to prevent damage, even for there own employees

This was the second time my wife and I played a round and we both had a great time. The course was challenging and was in great shape. The employees were great. They were so friendly and a pleasure to deal with. We weren’t rushed and were able to play at are pace. It is a must play course when you are in Wasaga and want to play a fun round of golf.

Way too expensive. Staff and Rules are trying to be a fancy country club course. The reality is they don't have ball washers at every tee block or they aren't filled. Power carts are old and not maintained. Our cart had cobwebs and trim falling off with sharp edges around the seat. The course itself was decent and maintained. Too many Marshalls bothering you on your round. We will not play here again.

Beautiful place. Food was great, very clean and very nice staff. We loved the presentation and it was wonderful. The only improvement is to stock some fancier alcohols for cocktails such as sour mix, amaretto, gins, and liqueurs. Other than that great! Swans in the pond / lake were a beautiful touch

Had our wedding at Marlwood and was a 10/10 experience. Staff were so helpful, accommodating and friendly. Venue was beautiful and lots of options for food and set up. Had the best wedding, couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day!

Course is in really good shape, there are some tough holes! Two complaints.... there are enough staff around that you always feel you are being followed. They are however mostly friendly and accommodating. If you want an alcoholic beverage be prepared to bring a child you don't want...$11 for a beer or cooler! Just ridiculous!! They should be ashamed of that price. $80 a round for Friday morning golf, also a bit steep. Overall enjoyed the golf though.

Course was “okay” greens were awful, service in proshop / starter was a weird experience. Not friendly at all, honestly just kind of awkward. They don’t let you bring your cart to your car to get your clubs so you have to trek with them. Beers were insanely expensive, pace of play was also awful. Not worth the drive to wasaga to be honest. I’ve played almost all courses in simcoe / surrounding areas and this was my worst experience yet. Cart girl was nice have to add that in. But again, $11 for a tall boy is ludacris

The course well kept except and not overly difficult and good for all skill levels. Weekends are very busy during summer months. People are very friendly

First time playing this course and was a great experience EXCEPT- when I asked why they didn’t have handicap parking (0 present but two spots signed for alumni or something) staff explained to me that if you’re handicapped you wouldn’t be golfing. As a person with a disability and the Ontario disability parking pass I found this answer rude and distasteful. Then another staff member chimed in they made an exception for elderly golfers last week because they would need it. Maybe management should review the situation and rules for accessibility parking. I was truly offended and my group was ver…

This course is clearly all about squeezing as much money out of you as possible while treating you like an inconvenience. From the moment we paid, the marshals were on us like hawks — rushing us every hole, barking at us to speed up, even though we were keeping up with the group in front. It’s obvious they don’t care about your experience, only about getting you through the round as quickly as possible so they can fill another tee time. a marshal came up to us every other hole to remind us how much time we were and tried to explain to us how we should be playing. I paid good money for golf on…

Greens were aerated, tee boxes moved to temp locations, and sand traps were more like mud than sand, and yet they still charged $45 (walking) for twilight. Sure, the location is great for residents of Wasaga Beach, but the course doesn’t warrant the price, at least not the shape it’s in now.
