Larkin Golf Course at Colonial Terrace is praised for its well-maintained grounds, affordable pricing, and friendly staff, making it an ideal spot for beginners and those looking for a quick round on a scenic 9-hole course. The course features small, challenging greens and a layout that is both enjoyable and not overly difficult, with a punch-card system offering added value. A fun, quick 9-hole course with small, fast greens. Having gone twice, once on a Saturday and once during the week, I never ran into any crowds or had to wait too long at a tee. Some of the tee boxes are chewed up but overall it’s a solid course. It’s very walkable with the option for cart rentals at a good price with a discount for local country residents. Added plus for having a punch-card system where you get a free round after playing 9.

If you’re learning golf and want a cheap place to learn, this is your spot. The grounds here are more maintained than some 18 hole courses in the area that have been around forever.

Great course for the money. Layout is scenic and challenging but not super difficult. A couple of holes require a decent carry over water. Greens, fairways, and sandtraps are in good shape. Cart path gets a little bumpy but adds to the charm of this course.

Best kept gold secret in NJ. For the price of a bucket of range balls you can play a very well maintained true 9 hole. Staff are friendly, courses are in excellent shape, very challenging greens (very small and undulating). Plays in ~2 hours.

(William Larkin golf course)This golf course has come a long way over the years. Next to (Old Orchard) this course is much cleaner and maintained by a good ground crew. Old orchard used to be a Top course and I loved to golf there but when people ask me if I m game to go and get our game on I would much rather play 9 twice here than and pay then play old orchard for free !!!! AND THAT IS SAD it WAS AND COULD HAVE BEEN BROUGHT BACK TO A BEAUTIFUL GOLF DESTINATION BUT BAD MANAGEMENT AND REALLY NEVER HAD SERIOUS THOUGHTS ON TAKING CARE OF THE GROUNDS OR REALLY THE ENTIRE PROPERTY !! Cared only ab…

Nice little place to get a TT and just play 9 holes. Whenever I have gone I mostly see seniors and often the same faces and not just on league days. None of the holes are very challenging but that is part of the allure as sometimes you just want an easy morning of golf that moves along with breakfast waiting for you down the block at the Sunrise Diner.

Great 9 hole executive course. Well ran. In good shape for a Mid Oct round especially with the recent rain. Well priced, well staffed and well maintained.

I have played about 7-8 9 hole rounds here so far and it is amazing. It is a short course at around only 2200 yards but don’t let that make you think it’s easy. The greens are super small and super challenging. Very well maintained!

My tee time was at 11:30 I arrived around 11:15 mind you this is only a 9 hole course in a suburban neighborhood. I go in to pay and get some tees and immediately I was rushed by the front desk and the guy handing out carts. Saying how I was late and I told them it’s only 11:15 my tee time is in 15 mins how am I late? Continued to say “we understand but “ I lived in Ocean Township my whole life that’s where I grew up and to get this sort of experience my first time there is horrific. Trash course anyways unless you like using your irons the whole time. I highly recommend Colts Neck Country Clu…

This golf course had greatly improved since the last time I was there. I believe that was approximately 3 years ago. I was told it was taken over by the township. Great job! Better fairways, greens, approaches. The gentleman in the clubhouse was extremely pleasant and helpful. While I was playing there it seemed that they were taking care of almost every hole. They were very polite though. When I was getting ready to take a shot, the engines got turned off and it was always nice and quiet. It's an easy course but if you want to get out and play nine or eighteen and not have to wait an eternity…

I enjoy playing with my friends on Tuesday mornings in our Ladies Golf League. The course looks great. They are just working on new a putting green. I'm anxious to try it. The Recreation employees are friendly and very helpful. Enjoyable.
