What People Say

In summary

World Golf Village receives praise for its beautiful setting, friendly and professional staff, and convenient amenities such as a coffee shop and restaurant. However, several guests have noted issues with the dated and sometimes unclean rooms, uncomfortable beds, and maintenance problems like malfunctioning toilets and elevators. While some visitors had positive experiences with the service and look forward to upcoming renovations, others found the overall value lacking compared to the cost.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights for my daughters dance competition that was happening at the convention center next door. I was excited for the trip based on pictures and other reviews, but sadly was quite disappointed. Main issue was that only 2 of the 4 elevators were operating causing long lines to use them. Adding to this problem was the lack of stairs to go up and down from the lobby to the floors (only fire escape stairs that exit outside exist). For a dance convention there was constant flow of people to and from the rooms as dancers have varied schedules and large dance bags. Almost…

I enjoyed my stay here and look forward to the renovations coming. The breakfast buffet was excellent and my server was excellent. Well done! The only suggestion I have is that during conventions the restaurant remain open later for lunch so folks who attend sessions past 2PM because the rush to the Caddy Shack there on campus overloads their kitchen, staff and the wait is long. I want to thank your gracious Concierge, Miss Jody, for her kindness and friendship to this mobility-challenged patron from May 1 - May 3. Your service and professionalism was and is very much appreciated. She is a won…

Unfortunately, terrible terrible experience! I never complained about any hotel stays but this one desires to be more. I checked out after 3 days at 10am, but they still charged me for full day and the next day as well. Charged my 2 aperol spritz drinks to the room and they charged me $72 for that!!! Expensive aperol spritz it was!!! Called to dispute all my charges and still nothing. The room service was really bad. Hair on the bed when we checked in.They just made the beds but didn't clean the bathroom or the coffee makers for 3 days in a row! When you stand for one of the best hotels you be…

We have been frequent visitors to the Renaissance Hotel coffee shop for the last 4 years. We wanted to tell you how impressed we are with your employees. They are so personable from Chef Tony (great breakfasts), Chris (the best doorman ever), O'Neill, Jody, Richard, Brandon, Jay, Madalynn and the coffee shop employees Lauren, Andrew, Whitney, Maria and Nikki. They are always so welcoming and eager to please. Just recently, and one other time, the coffee machine did not work. As before with Lauren and most recently with Andrew and Whitney, this did not stop their service. They were eager to se…

From the moment I pulled into the hotel the service was impeccable; a lovely young man opened the door to the main lobby for my dog and I. The staff at check in are wonderful; professional, kind and want to ensure you have the best experience possible. I highly recommend this hotel, wonderful service and staff. If you have a dog, your dog will also be very happy! Thank you for a wonderful stay and experience.

We stayed here 2 nights. The room was clean and the staff was very nice. We like that they decorated for Christmas and had a lot of phone options. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff was nice overall good service. The restaurant was nice and the food was good. The location was good, not too far from downtown St Ausustine. The only issue/con would be the mattress. The bed was not comfortable at all. The worst mattress I have slept on in a long time. I did not expect the mattress to be so bad for the cost of the room.

Really loved staying here. Quiet, beautiful and secluded property with a gorgeous drive through tree canopies to get there. The hotel is dated but about to be renovated however I would still stay before renovations as it was clean, beds, comforters and pillows were amazing. Plus there is a bar downstairs and a gift shop with Starbucks in it. Very convenient!!!

My recent stay at the World Golf Renaissance ST Augustine was, without exaggeration, one of my worst hotel experiences. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. The moment I walked into the room, I was appalled by the lack of cleanliness. The carpets were visibly dirty, the bathroom showed clear signs of neglect, and the overall impression was one of filth. It felt more like a low-budget motel than a hotel charging these rates. Beyond the hygiene issues, the bed was simply unbearable. It was saggy, lumpy, and made getting any restful sleep impossible. After a…

I was really hoping for a pleasant experience being the reviews were good. The location was a little further than expected. The first room we stayed in the tv didn’t work being I have 3 kids the tv was important. They switched us to a new room which we thought would be better but only to find out the toilet flooded the bathroom every time you flushed it.

Its an ok hotel. The beds are not comfortable, think a box spring with an inch of foam. The rooms are fine but the one we stayed in was very outdated. Shampoo was empty when we got our room and the toilet paper was clearly not replaced from the last guest. The service was great, they responded quickly with no complaints. The location was amazing. It was a little secluded while being fairly close to Costco and Bucee's and only around 15-20 minutes from St Augustine. We payed a fairly reasonable price for our room which made it worth it but if it was more expensive it would not have been worth i…

Aging property I'm a little surprised Marriott would put their name on. Stayed for 1 night as we were playing golf at S&S nearby and thankful we didn't stay more. Location if you're doing anything at WGV is great, but that's about it. The room felt like it was from the 90s and did not feel clean at all. We got in late so we just wanted to get to bed otherwise we would have tried to get another room. Bathroom smelled terrible and toilet had issues flushing. Hairs all over the floor and shower needs to be replaced entirely. Front desk staff was clueless when asking about if the hotel offered an…

If you are here just for a convention, you probably wont realize how disgusting this hotel is. If you unfortunately need to send the night, you will know this place is filthy. My room was changed on my second night after cleaning crews came in and the room was still filthy. Stains on walls and bedside, a leash can with gross residue on the outside, holes and chips in the walls. The shower was so stained and you could tell they had painted the tub as a repair. When this was reported to staff, they sent a housekeeper up. I was leaving the room when the lady arrived who literally pushed her cart…
