In summary

Admiral Baker Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained North and South courses, with particular commendation for the greens and fairways. The staff is consistently described as friendly and professional, enhancing the overall experience. The course layout is considered enjoyable and offers a good balance of challenge and playability. While the facilities, including the driving range and clubhouse, are generally appreciated, some visitors note occasional slow pace of play and maintenance issues, particularly on the fairways.

I played a round here last weekend with a couple buddies and had a pretty good time overall. The course was in solid shape, especially the greens, which rolled true most of the day. Fairways were mostly well kept, though there were a few thin spots here and there. Nothing that really took away from the experience. The pace of play was decent and we didn’t feel rushed, which I appreciated. Staff in the pro shop were friendly and got us checked in quick. It’s not the most challenging layout I’ve ever played, but it’s enjoyable and worth coming back to. I’d definitely tee it up here again.

Played a round here last weekend and overall it was a pretty solid experience. The course was in good shape, especially the greens, which rolled fairly true even with some recent rain. Fairways were mostly clean, though a few spots could use a little extra attention. Staff at the clubhouse were friendly and helpful without being over the top, which I appreciated. Pace of play was reasonable for a busy day, didn’t feel rushed or stuck waiting too long. The layout itself is enjoyable and offers a decent challenge without being frustrating. I’d come back again when I’m in the area.

Played SOUTH course on July 10, 2024. The course has great amenities such as practice greens and a driving range (mat only). The staff was pretty friendly and helpful. As for the course it is in ok condition. No issues with the tee boxes, bunkers, or greens. However, the fairways have a lot of dry spots and dirt patches that need attention. The greens roll very well but you must be accurate on your approach shots because those greens are small. I do wish the greens had more slop challenges but the course is pretty flat. Not much danger to get into but there are a few wooded areas where your te…

A highly unsuitable environment. With all these facilities, it's heartbreaking to see such a waste of national resources. Even in this valley area of San Diego, with its favorable humidity and conditions, the place is poorly maintained. The swimming pool has been closed for years, and this valuable public investment is slowly being destroyed.

We played the North Course and had a great experience. The layout is fun and fair, with tree-lined fairways and just enough bunkering to keep you thinking off the tee. Conditions were solid. Ggood lies in the fairways and smooth, consistent greens. Pace of play was reasonable, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the round even better. The overall value for San Diego is hard to beat. Overall: A well-maintained, enjoyable course that offers a nice balance of challenge and playability.

Wonderful round of golf on well maintained and beautiful North Course. Nice wide fairways, pretty vistas, only hazards are sand traps. Professional, friendly, and welcoming staff from check-in through departure.

North Course was perfect! Priced fairly, excellent views, very challenging at times (I walked, so it made it more challenging) and very well maintained. The club house serves an awesome River walk sandwich and great burgers. Worthy of returning over and over.

This is a GREAT local San Diego golf course for the value! Baker North is usually the best out of the 2 courses available at this location and is a good test for all abilities. The tee boxes are good, the fairways usually have plenty of grass and doesn't dry out too much except for a couple of trouble holes and the greens are excellent! The South is shorter but a good practice and confidence builder course. Pace of play can get a little slow at times but that's everywhere in SoCal these days.. The restaurant here is also really good. Chicken wings are awesome! Highly recommended and I'll be ba…

Great military course. North is long and open with challenging hole length and South course is shorter with a fun layout, doglegs and features. Well maintained and worth the mid level price with a Veteran or military escort.

For the price, you can't beat it. Wonderful driving range, well maintained course, and dope little bar in the clubhouse. I played here a few dozen times when I was stationed in San Diego and don't have a bad thing to say.

Absolute gem! The North course is one of the best military courses I’ve ever played, and the South course is perfect for beginners or a change of pace. Greens roll pure, fairways are lush, and the bunkers are very consistent. Highly recommended!

Played South. It is very nicely cared for. Staff is very nice. I was happy to play there. Very nice spot in Mission Valley to be outdoors.
