Well first off, the price was $12 per person, so it's fairly cheap and they even have clubs to rent at the clubhouse. The staff manager was super polite and responsive, but informed me that the restrooms weren't operational but gave directions to where the closest ones were. I remember playing this place when I was 10 years old with my dad and thinking, “man, this course kinda sucks”. Now that I'm 20 years older, my opinion hasn't changed much, but I do have more appreciation for what this course is. Great little spot for beginners and kids to learn how to play golf, and for that, it’s worth the low price point. It’s a million years old and it’s $12 for like 1200 yards of golf so some of the reviews here are funny to me because if you feel the need to post a negative one afterwards, you also could obviously read them before you go and not be surprised. It is what it is and has been forever if you want to swing some clubs around for an hour or two I still pop over there a couple times a year to support it.

Fun, easy-going course that is perfect for practice and a ZERO STRESS day! So easy to play, practice, and have an easy day out. Also still a fun course for its size. The conditions are rough, but that makes for an added challenge that just helps you build your game. You gotta like the charm of the place to appreciate it a bit more. It's a back to basics, easy golf course. Also have merch available, including a KILLER DEAL on hats! You can’t beat a course located in beautiful Old Town!

Basically you'll be practicing your pitching and chipping. For what it is, it's not bad. But it barely qualifies as golf. Probably ideal for kids or for just an hour of goofing off with golf clubs.

As someone who lives maybe 500 feet away, I can rationalize golfing here every so often. It’s a pitch and putt, so you can reasonably bring your putter, wedge and maybe a 9 iron. Holes 10-16 are excruciating repetitive, but the back 9 has been closed for some time now so you might not even have to worry about it. Greens are uneven and lumpy, fairways are dead and full of anthills. The rough is sometimes a foot tall. They have a push mower, so don’t expect Torrey conditions. Fun, casual course. Nice and relaxing without a lot of people, even on the weekends. That being said, the greens are not maintained and look hilarious. Clover and leaves on super long greens. $12pp Monday through Thursday and $15pp Friday through Sunday

As long as you can hit the ball, you can play. It’s not a polished course, but it’s one with character. People love to complain about its condition, but if you truly love the game, you’ll appreciate its history—after all, it’s the first golf course in San Diego. That doesn’t even account for the fact that many golfing legends, such as Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods, began honing their skills here in their youth. Somewhat mismanaged. I learned to play there so I love it no matter what. Ten or 12 years ago, they used to hold the junior championships there. All the big players have played it. Woods, Mickelson and so on. It holds an awful lot of golf history.

I've read the reviews, I live nearby and I know what to expect if I was to play the course. I was there to ask for future reference, if I was to bring a small group. My one star review is what happened before I even stepped foot on the greens. It was like something out of a slapstick comedy film. It's 12 dollars, if your expecting Torrey pines then go somewhere else. HOWEVER, for 12 dollars I can not complain one bit! It's a great course for the cost and will definitely help your 150 yard and In game! I also kinda got the feeling that they are beginning to do some renovations, maybe 🤔 starting to make it even better? Highly recommend will be back

This is a short par-3 course, pitch and putt. The longest hole is about 100 yards, with most around 40 yards. They don't water much, and the greens aren't great. What brings me back is the value, around $12 per round, and how empty the course is. If there are three other groups out, it is a busy day. Where else can you have an entire 18-hole golf course almost to yourself? And the value.
