What People Say
In summary
Amherst Audubon Golf Club receives mixed feedback from visitors. Many appreciate the improvements in course condition under new management, noting the friendly and helpful staff, particularly during events and youth programs. However, some golfers express dissatisfaction with the pace of play, course maintenance issues, and occasional unavailability of golf carts, which can detract from the overall experience.

We had an unbelievable time at the course. We played three times over this past weekend. The greens were perfect. You can tell the course is in a positive transition. They have done some really nice work on the back nine.It was a lot more challenging than we thought. We will never forget the 9th. Really thin fairway into the green that you can reach with a big drive. Audobon's staff was so nice to us, made us feel like we were members of the club. We are already planning on playing the course in the future.

Not a bad course. Played it twice, each time I played 9 holes. The first time I played the back 9, second time I played the front 9. The front 9 is pretty boring, the back 9 is better, there’s bridges and ravines.

Honestly, many years ago this place was much better, I’ve been out three times this year and usually takes about an hour and a half to get through three holes because of the pace of play. If you pull up and see more than 3 people In line at the first tee box not worth playing that day.

This is my fourth or fifth time in one season being told that I booked early enough to use a golf cart and upon our arrival, I was told that I could not get a cart. Be cautious of booking anywhere near the time that they tell you is the cutoff. The staff is not accommodating or friendly. It’s a shame because the golf course is easy and kept up with.

Not a bad course, if you play when it's dryer. Good price. If you play after it rains, don't play from 9. Holes 5 through 9 are very wet. Last 9 are good though.

Yet again another 1 star review for the incredibly underwhelming Amherst Audubon golf course. Called to make a tee time and was left on hold for 10 minutes. Got here to pay and they didn’t allow my wife and I to take our kids with us. We come here every once in a while every year, course is always in bad shape and it’s always disappointing. The only reason we come is because it’s close, but that won’t happen anymore.

Course is basically a flat field with greens and a flag. Not much character. Course conditions needs a bit of work where the greens are bumpy and fairways are a little long. Tee boxes here need the most work. The low price that they charge matches the course conditions and what you get. Employees here have been pleasant so far.

Fun pretty straight forward course. Complaint is with the starters (or the same guy I keep getting as a starter). Be warned you pay to have a cart in the pro shop and come out to the starter he tries to group you with someone else (random) and force you to share a cart. He will in an unnecessary tone say that paying for a cart is only paying for a seat in a cart. Never heard of this before on a golf course. I pay the whole amount for my own cart I should be getting my own cart. This specific starter will talk down on you. Be warned. Course is fun though!

Get here early and enjoy before it gets backed up. Greens are in good condition, a fun course for locals.

We signed up our grandson for Audubon's Junior golf summer camp. This is a 4 half-day youth program for kids 8-15 years old. It's coached by the staff of the course. I heard good things about the program and was interested in trying it out for our 10 year old grandson. He had an awesome experience and enjoyed working with the camp coaches. They were knowledgeable and friendly coaches that worked very well with the kids. Nick, the course manager, is a part of the 4-day camp and was great with the kids. And, apparently the program is steadily growing. I couldn't be happier with Nick and his lead…

Course staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Course was walk only due to water. There were some tee boxes in rough shape, no signage at tee boxes, the benches at tee boxes were almost all broken, also no ball washers, the sand was unplayable (didn't have rakes, drop out and behind so to have a play on the ball). Even with that, I'll give it another try next year, hopefully that have a smoother transition into the playing season. Course has potential to be a good to great city course and the staff seems willing to make it that way. Overall 5 for staff friendliness/helpfulness and a 3 fo…
