What People Say
In summary
Beckett Golf Club receives mixed reviews, with some visitors appreciating the challenging layout and recent improvements under new management, including well-maintained fairways and greens. However, many express dissatisfaction with the course's overall condition, citing issues such as poorly maintained greens, overgrown rough, and confusing cart paths. The transition from a 27-hole to a 19-hole course has also been criticized, with some feeling that the changes have negatively impacted the course's quality and playability.

I know you say your saying your changing things here, it's a little better than it used to be. But you really need to keep up with the grass. I shouldn't lose my ball when it rolls from the fairway to the ruff. Update: Went here today. Absolutely horrible! Wasted $42 and my time. Never again will you get a penny out of me! Can't tell where the fairway end and the rough begins. Greens are horrible. Mostly dead grass. But good news! The weeds are tall, green, and lush!! Oh bring plenty balls, your going to need them!!

Played the course yesterday with two friends and it's in fine shape. The course may be one of the toughest 6000 yard layouts you'll find. Tees and fairways are in great shape. The greens are rolling great. Nice electric carts. Effectively zero houses on the course with the new redesign. The rolling hills set in the country setting make you feel like you're very much at a private country club. The new range right next to the clubhouse was a nice addition for warm up or practice. My friends and I had a great time and it's obvious that the course is improving.

I absolutely love this course! By far the most underrated course around. Take any negative reviews for the grain of salt, this course has new management and they have really turned it around. Quite possibly the best value in town. The greens are a perfect speed, not too fast, Not too slow. Beautiful fairways, sand is well manicured, nice water gaps and a super tranquil environment. Such a beautiful course carved out deep in the woody area. Honestly this course is a best kept secret so there is usually plenty of room to play. Get out soon before everyone else figures out how awesome this cou…

Upgraded from three stars, played there yesterday; People are nice, greens fees are low, but the course isn't in great shape. That said, they do seem to be taking much better care of the 18-hole layout than the old 27-hole set-up and the course is in better condition than in prior years. The new configuration has resulted in some clumsy green-to-tee paths. But if they tweak the design of few a few holes and grass keeps improving, It will be a nice course in a couple of years.

Course isn't in as bad of shape as one might expect. Likely due to the rain we've had this year and not routine maintenance. The course layout is good, holes are challenging. $25 a round is a fair price

The course is butchered. It used to be a 27 hole course. Over several years they have removed 9 holes, and now it is an 18 hole course. But instead of strategically removing 9 holes and using it's awesome natural features to make a great 18 hole course, they strategically removed any hole that has good real estate value to build housing. The result is a horrible butchard course. To add insult to injury, they have not removed any of the old cart paths and have not built any new cart paths. This creates mass confusion when you finish a hole, instead of following the old defined cart path, you…

I give this 4 stars mainly on the price paid. Well worth it. As for the play. Fairways and greens were a little dry but not bad for this heat wave. Off the fairway the grass was high. Lost a couple of balls in the rough even though we saw them land. All in all had good round. Time for 19 holes (they have an extra to get you back to pro shop) 4 hrs 10 min.

September 1 and this course is in pretty awful condition. Nothing was mowed. Fairways had 4 to 6 inch grass in MOST places. Greens were terrible, half brown, ungroomed. Always a struggle to find your ball even if you hit it down the middle. For 40 bucks a round, you're kidding me. I paid for 18, played 9 and left. It was that bad. Hire some landscaping help guys. Terrible.

Disappointing. 5 years ago the course had the best bang for the buck. $21 to walk and $35 to ride. I played it 3 times this year; the price went up, the course was not well maintained, the clubhouse restroom is old and dirty, and the restaurant did not have a good selection.. The winter rates are still good, but the price to walk during the week in season of $29 is too steep for the condition the course is in. Update: The course is now 19 holes and still in crappy condition. I do not think this course will be here within the next three years. It will be sold for new homes.

Pro shop staff was rude, gave us a hard time about coming in without a tee time even though their website was down. "squeezed us in" however after the first tee we didn't see another group in front or behind us all day. While I wasn't expecting a country club type manicured course we couldn't even find most balls among the weeds in the middle of the fairway. All water coolers seemed neglected and gross on an 82 degree day. With the ridiculous price ($45) for 18 and a cart this course should be avoided.

Course is in horrible shape. Came from out of town not expecting to play so we didn't bring collared shirts. Wouldn't let us play at 3 pm during the week because of it. I have golfer on courses a 100 times nicer without a collard shirt. It's no wonder they can't maintain the course. They turn away money we no one is even at the course. Take what you can get people

The fairways are roughs and the roughs are jungles. Swap your 8 iron for a scythe and cut 5 strokes off your score. The greens play surprisingly fast. Also pro-tip they don’t sell beer, which is a tragedy. Liquor store is up the street.
