In summary

Westwood Golf Club receives praise for its course layout, generally well-maintained fairways and greens, and friendly staff, particularly in the pro shop and restaurant. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the pace of play, citing delays and scheduling issues, and there are concerns about the treatment of junior golfers following changes to Youth on Course policies. Additionally, a few reviews mention issues with tee box conditions and interactions with certain staff members.

Sad to see the Youth on Course Memberships cut. I can understand issues with parents dropping kids unsupervised, but we always play with our kids. The Pro last year thanked me for spending time with my kids and getting them interested in golf and teaching them the game. Courses apparently can set their own rules with the membership. Instead of cutting it completely, require kids to be playing with an adult. Why kill it completely for families (that also eat in your restaurant after a round).

This is exactly what is wrong with golf courses today. We had a 3:09 tee time, showed up at 2:30 and teed off promptly at 3:49 !!! Literally 40 minutes behind schedule. But when you have 9 minute tee times on a public course what else can you expect. Squeeze as many golfers that you can out there and maximize profits. Except everyone who is playing is pissed off. Good job management. I’ll help the problem and never come back.

Tee time 2:06, didn’t tee off until 2:20. Left after 12 holes. Was on pace for an almost 5 and a half hour round of golf. Absolutely ludicrous. For $70 a round, be better

After reading the reviews from a month/ 2 months ago I would say the course is in MUCH better shape. Nice and green. 👌🏼 I'm giving 4 /5 stars because we wanted to do the back 9 this morning and they would only allow us to do the front. In the past there was a back 9 special, which was great for a quick round before work...It will be greatly missed. I haven't been inside to try the food but have heard great things since the remodel. Can't wait to try!

Golfed there this past weekend on Sunday! Course was in the best shape I’ve seen this season, better than some of the other local courses I’ve played at this time. Never a complaint with the golf shop always helpful. Restaurant upstairs is 10/10 on quality and atmosphere. Highly recommend Westwood if you’re looking to join the golf community

The course layout is great and the conditions are always above average. The staff are all very friendly and courteous. Only complaints, which are minor, are the tee boxes tend to be a bit chewed up on a bunch of holes but overall not bad at all. Fairways and greens are always in great condition. Greens are especially challenging here, with pretty dramatic slopes/curves on a number of holes. But this place seems to genuinely care about keeping the course in a nice, presentable condition. I play here at least a couple times a month and enjoy it every time.

Would give 2.5 stars if possible. By no means a bad course, but for the price (about $85 for a Sunday morning) I was less than impressed. Greens were nice overall, but many tee boxes we were hitting off dirt and there were quite a few holes on the front 9 with more crabgrass than grass in the fairways. Starter and pro shop employee were friendly and twice a ranger came around offering free bottles of cold water, which was very appreciated on a hot humid day. Pace of play was decent, finished in just under 4.5 hours, however we spent the entire round waiting on almost every shot for the group…

I’m honestly really disappointed and frustrated with how Westwood Golf Course has treated junior golfers lately. A couple months ago, they changed the Youth on Course hours from 3pm to 5pm — clearly just to stop juniors from playing. And now there aren’t even any tee times after 5pm! So basically, they took away any chance for juniors to get out and play without paying full price. It’s ridiculous. This course used to be welcoming to younger players, but now it feels like they don’t care about growing the game at all. Golf is supposed to be about encouraging the next generation, not pushing th…

Friendly staff! average fairways and greens but dried out from the summer weather. Tee boxes were a bit rough as well. The entire course was wide, so other players were never crossing over our fairways. Not perfect, but would recommend as a fun course.

Very windy so we couldn't complain about the leaves on the greens. Nice definition between fairway and rough. Green speed excellent. Bunkers nicely raked.

Get to course and tee off literally 4 minutes late. As we get there the starter is yelling hurry up which I totally get. 4 holes later same staff member comes up on me and my daughter to once again request us to speed up play. Again apologized IF we were playing slow. Get done 9 and ran to bathroom and as we come out once again same starter requesting we need to speed up. Again I apologize. We get to 11 yes next hole and they send out another staff worker at which point I just had enough bc at this point its harassing. I do yell and advise if they were there to ask me to speed up they should j…

Course is in decent shape, not terrible, but every time I try to go and give this place another chance, the starter is always just the worst. And it is more than one guy, it is literally every time I go and it seems to be a different guy. The snack stand and the pro shop staff are fine, maybe even good. But then you have to go interact with the most unhappy individual of all time at the 1st Tee and it really is just not the way you want to start off a round.
