Braintree Municipal Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, attractive layout, and friendly staff, offering a good golfing experience with scenic views and unique features like goats managing vegetation. However, some visitors express concerns about the slow pace of play and occasional issues with staff interactions, which can detract from the overall enjoyment. Despite these challenges, the course remains a popular choice for its value and quality conditions.

Braintree Municipal Golf Course offers good value for the money, and the course itself is usually in solid condition. Unfortunately, pace of play continues to be a major issue and significantly impacts the overall experience. The biggest problem is that many groups on the course simply cannot maintain a reasonable pace. It’s common to see players struggling to advance the ball, taking an excessive number of strokes per hole, searching for lost balls for 5+ minutes and creating backups throughout the entire course. As a result, rounds regularly stretch 5+ hours, which is far beyond what should…

Well maintained course that is professionally run . Greens were fast and the fairways were well kept. The pro shop was stocked and the prices were fair for the conditions. Beautiful view and even some goats were visible. They do not have a driving range but they do have a putting green. If you need to warm up it will have to be on the course. They also do not have a beverage cart running and little to no refreshments available other than at the mid point so bring your water and ice. Still was a nice day and fun with some challenging holes. They do have electronic equipment for score and dista…

I was pleasantly surprised by this course. The conditions were great and I loved the layout. Definitely one of the better public courses Ive been to in Mass.

Good golf course located in a quiet neighborhood in Braintree. Staff are friendly. Holes have personality. Greens have tons of undulations and are running smooth. Lots of trees, water, and no houses. Course is in fantastic shape.

The course was fine but one of the starters was so disrespectful and had inappropriate manner. Our tee time was 6:40 on Sunday morning. First ball went off at 6:37 then followed by the rest. We were struggling to drive the cart off because one of them was broken so we had to reload the stuff to another cart. In the meantime the starter/ranger started yelling at us then followed by the other guy on the group behind us. We were behind the front group every hole and finished at about 10:35. Will come back the course was good though. We love those deers.

Played here in July 2025 on a rainy weekend day. Even though the teetimes were still packed, the pace of play was good and the course itself was overall very well maintained. Course layout is also interesting enough and the greens were true. There is a practice putting area, however you won’t be able to chip there and there is no driving range. We will definitely be back, though do remember to bring the bug spray because there are plenty of mosquitoes, likely due to the multiple bodies of water on the golf course.

Course is in good shape, however everyone who works there shouldn’t be allowed to run a golf course. Completely overbooked to the point where I played a 6 hour round and was cursed out for leaving a cart in front of the cart barn instead of off to the side (I followed the group in-front of me to drop off the carts.) Horrible management to a great track. Hope the town can resolve this.

This course is one of the best golf courses I have ever been to. This is one of the best municipal golf courses of all time. The fairways and greens are beautifully kept and it is a wonderful course to play at. When I went to check in for my tee time, I had the most wonderful opportunity to meet the golf pro of this course and he was phenomenal. His name was Dylan Casserly and he was so kind and a person you would want to be around. You can tell that this golf course is in good hands because of their wonderful course and exceptionally good staff. From now on I will always be coming to this cou…

For a muni course in the Greater Boston area, this place really can’t be beaten. Fairways are in good shape, greens are well manicured. Course is difficult but very playable for someone of my level (a high 80s/low 90s player). Probably could use a little more parking, as they often partner with GolfNow to do special promotional that bring in a lot of business.

Course is very solid for a municipal golf course. Employee at the end is obnoxious yelled at me for leaving 2 cans in the cart. Keep in mind the cart fee is 25$ each and in total between golf and drinks spent over 550$ at the place I don’t think I should be reprimanded as a grown man for leaving 2 cans in the cart…

I sent my kid to summer camp there and one day she came back crying because she was super hot and the counselors wouldn’t let her in the building. The counselors are always on there phones and the always ride a golf cart and makes the kids walk carrying there golf bags and they don’t teach the students. Don’t send your kids there for summer camp

At the time we were there as a group July 15 2025 I have to say that there overall care of the course has to be one of the best municipalities golf course i played in years. Even in the 90+ degree heat we were having.experiencing. The greens were receptive and in immaculate shape… the layout keeps you interested throughout 18 holes.. Staff on the course, and in the clubhouse including the pro-shop were friendly and helpful. 5 Stares all around for them. Now for my 3 star rating. parking and bag drop-off was confusing going there for the first time. That needs a second look in there process. T…
