In summary

Butterfield Trail Golf Club is praised for its beautiful desert layout, well-maintained greens, and scenic views of the El Paso area, making it a popular choice for golfers. The staff is generally described as friendly and helpful, and the clubhouse offers a good selection of food and amenities. However, some visitors have noted issues with customer service, inconsistent course maintenance, and a lack of on-course drink service, which detract from the overall experience for some.

Very nice course. The layout was beautiful and the course was fun to play. Stay in the fairways! It’s also very fast in the fairways and greens. Beautiful views and a great experience. It will be windy! Saw quite a bit of wildlife as well. Highly recommended!

I had a good experience here. The food is good. The staff is very helpful. The drinks are good. Golfing was good. I do think that it would be cute to have someone drive around and offer to sell drinks to the golfers but all in all I think it was a very good experience.

Wonderful desert course. Superlative condition. Finest hamburger I have ever eaten served at the grill. Only criticism was that no provisions were made for walking the course. I was carrying my clubs and experienced some difficulty between tees and landing zones. Would have been more difficult with a push cart.

Here's what to expect on most of the greens. Forget trying to read a putt. Club house is nice but check in guy no conversation just pay and go! He could work on his customer service.

Very nice staff with a few extras like attendants at the bag drop. Fantastic pro shop and clubhouse. It is a desert course so you will need to stay in the fairway. The day I played the greens were still recovering from the spring punch and sanding. I will play it again when I am in El Paso.

This course was once wonderful and full of historical artifacts and information. No more. The tee markers were so tacky and inconsistent. Carts were filthy and falling apart. One set of markers were turquoise in color but "silver" was spelled out! They have both turquoise and silver tees listed on scorecard! The reds were small chunks of wood, most silver markers were plastic cones, blacks and golds were metal wagon wheels. Just tacky! Range balls were FLAT sounding and went about the distance expected. Just 😔

Play discourse about 10 years ago. A friend and I were in town decided to give it another try. Very nice clubhouse and pro shop. Staff were very friendly from check in till check out. Good size driving range shipping and putting practice area. Course was in pretty good shape. Some of the greens had pretty good size bare spots on them but for the most part they ran true and very fast. I was warned that they were fast and they were. Fairways were in pretty good shape not a lot of grass to hit off of right now in certain spots it was like hitting off of the cart path. Tough to get your Club under…

Second time playing at this course. Marshals were super pushy with gameplay, attendants and staff were unfriendly. Seems as though they squeeze in way too many tee times. Cashier seemed to be bothered with patrons despite a slow weekday. Customer service is nonexistent. No drink cart girls or service at all for ALL 18 holes. Yet marshals kept driving around asking us if we had beer in our igloo containers - 4 times! Course layout is great but given the location in the middle of the desert, be prepared to lose sleeves of balls all over the course due to all the cacti, foliage and shrubs with th…

Been coming to Butterfield for years—never had a problem—until today, when Edward Martinez decided to flex authority he doesn’t have, probably to feel something. I showed up in a mid-engine supercar. One premium bag in the trunk, my guest brought his own full set. That’s two full sets of clubs, fully within policy. Edward walks over with shaky energy, talking about how we each need “two bags.” Not only is that incorrect, it’s not even in writing. When I called him out, he started stuttering and falling apart like a used Civic with 200k miles. Let’s be honest: this was less about rules and mo…

My first time golfing. Tacos were great and the prices wasn't too bad. Had most fun driving the golf cart.

I went to play this past Sunday and when I was on hole 7 around 2:30 pm, the older cart lady approached me for some drinks. At first I thought it was a regular interaction until she noticed that I had gone almost every Sunday and started saying she considers me one of her regulars. She then asked if I had ever played when there was a specific cart girl, and I had said yes. She offered me a discount on drinks if I would send an email to her manager speaking on the other cart girl negatively. When she saw my confusion she tried to play it off as a joke & gave me a free pop. I thought it was all…

Loved thier relaxing atmosphere, superior service and great food. Went there for lunch and their variety of sandwiches, burgers and sides were perfect. Something for every taste. I had thier chicken avacado bacon sandwich. Juicy, huge and tasty! Others had their monster wrap, club and BLT sandwiches....all fantastic! Surprisingly great fries (seasoned) accompanied them and I added the green chile mac and cheese.....what an excellent treat!. Great food, prices, service and atmosphere - what more could you want? Will come again soon.
