In summary

The New Mexico State University Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained and challenging layout, offering picturesque views and a welcoming atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the affordable pricing and the quality of the clubhouse amenities, including the bar and grill. However, some guests have noted issues with service efficiency, particularly in the restaurant, and occasional disorganization with tee time bookings. Additionally, there are limited restroom facilities on the course, and some have experienced slow play during busy periods.

One of the great golf courses of the southwest. Lee Trevino said the 9th hole was the best in the southwest! Affordable and well managed, a part of the New Mexico State University campus. Great practice facilities. Skip wasting your money in overpriced courses in other states and head here for a week or two next time. Great food in Las Cruces too!!

The course in great shape! Enjoyed playing it! Pace a little slow but it was expected for the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. Excellent selections from beverage cart! The amnenities need improvement. Need restrooms other than inside clubhouse and at the turn. At the turn snack bar ran out of food at approx 1230pm on Saturday.

Played here in January. The course was nice and the price was fantastic. Has some challenging holes. The only complaint was trying to get a tee time. The website through Google didn't work, calling sent me to a different website, which took me to a 3rd party booking. Should be easier. Bar and grill seemed very nice. Just had an ice cold beer.

Was not impressed by the the course, neither the design nor the conditions, when we played here during winter time. But got another chance to play here again in September, that's whole another story, the Back 9 is somewhat worth spending 2 hours here, as it's a lot up and downhill designs.

A hidden gem in central New mexico. Glad I accidentally stumbled across this wonderful golf course. Friendly staff inside. Golf course on the campus is very well laid out. Well-maintained. Fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Surrounded by the New Mexico desert oasis in Socorro is a great place to play golf. Highly recommend play in this course. Nice selection of food and beverages inside the grill. Nice place to take a break and get some food and drink inside your stomach. It's about 70 mi south of Albuquerque and definitely worth the trip

The Bacon Cheeseburger was delicious. The service needs some work in the Bar/restraunt, The girls like to tack on extra charges, I have never recieved an accurate bill here.

Course was great! Greens were slow and pretty chewed up on the front. I made a tee time but things were VERY disorganized. I was told they do t make tee times after 5 yet they had my name down. When I checked in with the starter he was pissed that they let me in I was told to get a refund then it was ok. Couldn’t hit balls due to all the back and forth.

Very tough layout but was able to shoot 92 blue tees with birdie on the last hole..even say a few road runners.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Players Grill. The bartender seemed completely untrained—she asked me what kind of beer I wanted in my Bloody Mary and didn’t even know how to pour a proper shot. It’s clear the staff needs better guidance—bartenders shouldn’t be left alone when they clearly don’t know what they’re doing. Proper training is a must. When I went for lunch with my son, there were only two other tables, yet the service was extremely slow. We sat for quite a while before the waitress even acknowledged us, as she stood chatting with another table and ignored us entirely.…

I cannot say enough good things about this course. Loved the views, well maintained and deceptively challenging course. FYI there are no restrooms on the course and water is limited.
