In summary

The Causeway Club is praised for its beautiful setting along the water and friendly staff, offering a charming 9-hole course that many find enjoyable and well-maintained. However, some visitors have expressed frustration with the course layout, lack of clear signage, and occasional condition issues, such as burnt fairways and high fees. While the venue is appreciated for its scenic views and relaxed atmosphere, there have been reports of inconsistent customer service experiences and logistical challenges during busy times.

The setting of this golf course is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately the layout made it very frustrating to play. There were no clear markers anywhere on the course, so I had to rely solely on the map—which was not easy to read. Half the time I was confused, unsure which green went with which hole, because the map didn’t make it clear. I golf a few times a year in different states and even other countries, and this course was by far my least favorite. A few simple markers or better signage could have made the experience much more enjoyable.

Very friendly staff, no wait to get on the course to play 9 holes. Not a very large course but a beautiful setting! Fun 2-hr activity while we visited Bar Harbor/Southwest Harbor.

Awesome 9 hole course with probably the most comfortable carts ever. Amazing course right next to the water with amazing views. It’s small, we’ll maintained but alot of fun. I definitely enjoyed playing here and will definitely come back!

This course has some decent holes. However, the fairway grass is brown and burnt in many spots due to the warm temps and lack of rain. IMO their greens fee with cart is on the high side compare to other local courses. Pace of play is decent. The holes are not well marked nor are some hazards if you've not familiar with the holes. Lastly given the course layout, some holes are dangerously close to each other risking getting hit by a stray ball.

Perfect place for a quick round. Very short 9 hole course (no par 5s) right on the water. The tee boxes, greens, and fairways were all playable for a public course. Obviously it was pricy, but that’s to be expected in summer for a popular vacation spot. Really enjoyed being right on the water. We played in the afternoon after it had rained all morning, but the course was not noticeably wet.

Was excited to play golf here on Sunday August 31st. I had called ahead twice, once a month ahead to confirm it was open to the public and there were no events I was told we would be all set. Called the day before and was told that there is usually a group that plays Sunday mornings but they'd fit us in with them no problem. Drove 30 minutes to the course to find a sign saying it was only open to members until 1130am. Went inside because I figured I'd been told I could play so maybe it was incorrect. Spoke to the guy at the desk who said the course is open to the public but was member only to…

A great 9 hole track with amazing views of mountains and water. And what a great way to finish your round by having a cold drink and sandwich at the bar overlooking the course. Overall a fantastic experience!

This was a really disappointing golf course for the excessive price. The overall condition was fair at best. Unfortunately, there are few to pick from in the area. But I will pass next time.

Fun course and nice people. My daughter and I enjoyed this course immensely because of the scenery, people and the course itself. You have some easy holes and some really challenging holes……the greens were in great shape. A special shoutout to Cathy at the bar/restaurant, a very kind person who was pleasantly engaging. The price was a bit steep, but there aren’t too many public courses on the MDI, so you pay it if you want to play. I’d go back.
