In summary

Bar Harbor Golf Course is appreciated for its challenging layout and scenic views, with some visitors highlighting the friendly and helpful staff. However, the course condition has been inconsistent over the years, with some noting issues such as dry fairways, poor bunker maintenance, and outdated facilities. Despite these concerns, the course remains a historic and peaceful destination for golf enthusiasts.

Great layout. Best greens North of Boston. Quick and true. Plays like a Donald Ross course with crowned elevated greens. Plenty long and narrow from Blue tees for lower handicappers esp. when wind starts blowing. Staff ..Anne Scribner couldnt be more helpful. On an afternoon Holiday weekend she packed us a cooler at the turn & reopened when we finished later to take care of us. She is a gem!

I played this 18 hole course in Sept. 2017. The staff was polite & courteous and as were a couple members hanging out. Teed off with no wait. Fairways were a little dry due to the drought that burnt out most courses in New England that summer. The course was long from the white tees requiring at least a 5 iron on most second shots. Greens held & putted excellent. They are about average in size & mostly flat with some challenging undulations depending on pin placements. Traps had just been completely renovated & the sand was perfect. Enjoyed a couple frosties on the deck afterwards. Overall I w…

Played here August 25 2016. A round of golf with cart cost us $55 each. Sad to say this course is in terrible condition. There has been no apparent maintenance or repairs done to the course in a very long time. The fairways are bone dry and burned out. The sand traps and bunkers have no sand in them what soever and many of them have had all their sand removed completely as if they were being rebuilt, unfortunately they look like they have been that way for years. Tee boxes were in fair condition as were the greens. In general this course has great potential but it's not living up to it. This c…

Course layout was above average, and the greens were pretty difficult. Bunkers were in terrible condition as were most of the fairways and tee boxes. Staff was not very helpful, and pretty rude. There were no cart paths on this course, and it is not well marked. If you are visiting the area pay the extra to play Kebo Valley or play the 9 holes at Causeaway Club.

Greens were tough, fairways in really bad shape. Tee boxes like cement. However views were amazing.

Drove 45 minutes and found chain across entrance with small sign saying it is closed and for sale. Owners never updated website or Google maps to report closure.
