The Northeast Harbor Golf Club, located in the charming village of Northeast Harbor on Mount Desert Island, Maine, is a hidden gem for golf enthusiasts seeking both challenging play and scenic beauty. Established in 1895, this historic course offers a perfect blend of classic design and natural surroundings. Nestled between the mountains and the sea, the course provides golfers with spectacular views of Acadia National Park’s forested hillsides and glimpses of the harbor. Oh my! Spectacular ! We almost missed out on thus wonderful course. The 3 holes you see from the road appear flat and wide, wide open. Upon further look at maps the remaining 15 are tucked back in the forest and hills. so we took a chance. Although the first 3 holes do appear open they have challenges of their own. As another reviewer commented it is one of the best courses we’ve played … and we play northern CA and HI a lot. ! It is in perfect shape and the staff could not have been nicer.

Amazing course! My husband and I got lucky when rain kept all players away. We had the course to ourselves. It was a tough course to walk, but enjoyed getting to combine golf with a hike. A must for golf enthusiast visiting the MDI area.

The people were very friendly and helped with tips on the course. Considering the huge amount of rainfall before our visit the course was in very nice shape. Some beautiful and challenging holes. First those of you with your legged friends, they are welcome to join you walking which is a cool experience.

This Golf Course is nothing short of excellent! Always in prime condition, offers great scenery, and includes a few challenging holes. The staff is good and the prices aren't horrible for a seasonal golf club that primarily serves high-profile clientele.

Beautiful course with great scenery. I did find it hard going to the next hole as it was not clearly marked like going from 15 to 16.

We tryed to play 18 but on almost all the holes had grounds keepers on them either we had to wait or skip hole. The holes we were able to play were in bad shape. If the course needed that much work they should have closed it for the day. We stopped at 12 already missing 5 holes and went back to club house and got refund.
