In summary

Charleston National Country Club is praised for its well-maintained, challenging course that features beautiful landscapes and a friendly, hospitable staff. Visitors appreciate the recent improvements to cart paths and the variety of amenities, including a good selection of beverages. However, some guests have noted issues with slow pace of play, communication about membership benefits, and occasional staffing challenges.

Fun but often challenging g course with an abundance of marsh hazards, greens are well kept but the players could be a bit more diligent with fixing their divets. There’s always a friendly cart girl ready to supply you with snacks and drinks, most people who play here aren’t that terrible so pace of play tends to be pretty good. My pops said they just re did the cart paths and acquired new carts which def shows. All in all a fun local course.

This is great track. Sure there are problems. It's a public golf course. Sometimes the greens are slow. Sometimes the pace of play is slow. But it's also got a lot of personality. The back 9 has beautiful iconic landscapes. It's a shot makers course. It's not driver off every hole. They just made some improvements to the cart paths and bridges and hoping they improve the restroom situation. If you visit Charleston and you're a golfer, this is a course worth playing.

Played here while visiting Charleston and it was a beautiful, well maintained course. It plays pretty open with lots of sand and hazards. Front 9 was pretty short yardage wise with many doglegs. Greens are slower than what im used to after a recent rain. I had a twilight tee time, $56 for 18 but pace of play was pretty slow. Was able to finish 9. Club rental was $35 Cart included with $56 green fee $5 for small range bucket Good beer selection upstairs in the bar. If I moved to Charleston would definitely become a member. 4 stars because slow pace of play and I called many times in the afterno…

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with the VIP pass at Charleston National Golf Club. When purchasing the pass, it clearly advertised a free round of golf during your birthday month. My birthday is in April, and that benefit was a major reason I decided to buy the pass. However, after purchasing in June, I was later told that I would not receive my birthday round unless I renew the membership.. because the pass apparently expires at the end of December. This was never made clear at the time of purchase. Now both my roommate and I (also an April birthday) are unable to use a bene…

Pace is slow not crazy slow but slow. I was a single and had 3 some in front for last 5 holes. I asked to join was told no and couldn't play through. I saw a ranger once all round. The good the course is in nice shape , greens fast. The cart girl super nice and inside staff super nice also. I would play again when in town

I came to play in this course while on vacation. We had a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly hospitable and courteous. Ashley was super friendly, always smiling, and such a doll. We came for our first club while visiting Mount Pleasant, and after having a few unpleasant experiences at another golf club, we came back to play here twice. This place kept getting better and better every single time. The course was very well maintained, and they had a great selection of beers and products on the service cart. If we were to move down to SC, we would become club members. It even makes me…

Nice course, friendly staff. Challenging layout in the low country salt marsh. Lots of forced carry shots. Toughest course I've played in a while. Loved the scenery and nature. Beautiful course.

I've been a full dues paying member here since 2019 and the quality of golf has been steadily decreasing ever since. Full disclosure, I just ended my membership after the annual price increase and brand new monthly minimums. Here are my very common grievances: - 8 minute tee time spacing is criminal. In the hundreds of rounds I've played here, I doubt I've ever gone off on time. This is not hyperbolic, I think it has literally been 0% on time. - Most starters seem to do whatever they feel like. I often get groups let off in front of me that say they have tee times that don't exist ("We're the…

I drive passed Charleston National during the work week in order to get to my job. This morning a negligent golfer pelted my car with a golf ball, leaving a dent in the passenger door of the driver side. I immediately turned around to try and identify the exact golfer. Only one gentlemen offered to help me and he went to speak to the party that I believe was responsible. No one took accountability or seemed to care though I’m sure they would care if it was their vehicle. I then proceeded to the main office where no one took me seriously. I wasn’t met with any semblance of care or regard for my…

This is a lovely course that is consistently re-playable. However, management is poor and the pace of play is simply not enforced. Further, tee times are booked too closely together. This means that most days a round will be 5 1/2 hours, if not more. An efficient group can easily manage 3.5 hours were it not for the course traffic. The new carts are nice, but they’re frustrating with their geo-locking at times.

Played here in April, 2025. Course is fun and in excellent condition. Well maintained. Beautiful surroundings and a very pretty course to play. Play was a little slow but we had so much fun we didn’t care. I’d return in a heartbeat.

BEST VIP membership I have seen. Staff and Starters try to get you out as soon as possible and the new cart paths and carts with GPS are a great improvement. Course is in great shape and the cart service is as expected, full and with cold drink options. Great clubhouse, wish there were more food options, but the dogs are huge, and service is excellent. Leagues are run well, and the course is very competitive. Bring your A game.
