Chatuge Shores Golf Course

There's so much I love about this place! First it reminds me of a course I used to play with my Dad all the time.. Back in Iowa! 🤎 The yard markings are obvious and there are generally two indicators for every yardage. The course has challenges however very doable and fun 💫 The scenery is fantastic, mountain views⛰️ to lake views and streams. Got to the course told them we called two weeks ago and set up a tee time. They didn't have us marked down. They did have a open spot for us to play through. (Now I wished they didn't after playing). The gentlemen at the front counter was very friendly. This course has a decent layout. That is the only think I'm going to say. The greens were horribly burned out. You could guarantee yourself you were going to put through mud to get to the hole. The fairway looked like you could take a bailer to them to pick up all the grass clippings. Chatuge Shores Golf Course Review I have been playing golf for 50+ years. During that time, my handicap has ranged from 4 to 18 as of today. I have played all over the United Srates and even overseas in multiple countries. Of all the golf courses i’ve played I can’t think of one other course that was in worst condition as Chatuge Shores. EVERY green had damage that you were expected to putt through. Greens were running about a 6 or 7 because they hadn’t been mowed. This golf course used to be great, it is now in worse condition than any other course I have ever played. The greens are horrible and the fairways are showing signs of weeds and encroaching grass. The cost of play should be free but instead it was $40 for 9 holes on the weekend. I will be playing Mountain Harbor now.

The worst maintained golf course I have ever played. Piles of mowed grass on most fairways which were all thick and overgrown and greens were covered in dirt patches and weeds. Worst value out there for the $60 green fee.

Course needs mowed; fairway and tee boxes played like rough. Lack of signage and poor score card make play difficult for those unfamiliar with the course. $60 fee excessive for poor quality; Butternut Creek is same price and twice as nice.

This is a great golf course. Played 18 holes, very clean and well maintained.

It’s hard to give this course more than a 3… let’s start with the positives. The greens are in good shape and play moderately fast. Now onto the negatives… the fairway grass on some holes feels like rough. There were multiple times where we lost our balls but they were still in the fairway. The cart path gets very rough in some sections of the course. The front 9 feels like a completely different course than the back. The front is extremely hilly which makes every hole play much longer. What a great find! Husband and I were passing through Hayesville and took a chance there was availability. $40 for 18 holes. Greens were in great shape. Some holes have steep banks so be careful to keep it in the fairway so you don’t lose your ball. The course was well kept and had a beautiful view of the lake. Highly recommend!

Nice Public Course. Beautiful views and interesting hole layouts!!! Driving range avail. Carts or walk. Recommend 👍🏼

Fairways were absolutely terrible and un mowed some weeds were over a foot tall. Alot of dirt areas including whole tee boxes. The only thing good about course was the greens were decent but extremely soft and wet. Won't be back not worth 50 bucks
