In summary

Chesapeake Golf Club receives mixed reviews, with some visitors appreciating the friendly staff, challenging course layout, and family-friendly amenities like the kids' summer camp. However, many criticize the course's poor maintenance, including greens and fairways in disrepair, outdated facilities, and restrictive policies such as the no-walking rule on weekends. Concerns about safety and overall value for the price are also frequently mentioned.

This is a very walkable course, but management doesn't allow players to walk the course on the weekends. They also don't allow players to play just 9 holes on the weekends. Never mind that a bogey golfer can easily play 18 here in 2.5 hours while walking (as I have multiple times on weekdays). Management said the no-walking policy is due to pace of play concerns, but there are other ways to enforce that. I've never seen policies like these at a walkable mediocre course before. Instead, they require players to take their old, noisy, smelly diesel carts. Who needs exercise and fresh air when yo…

BEWARE! Not even 1 star should be allowed for this. We just had a golf tournament here yesterday and my god this was the worst experience I have ever had in terms of playing conditions on a golf course. I can’t believe they let this tournament be held here in these conditions. This is embarrassing. I have played here for 20+ years and I wouldn’t even call this a golf course anymore at this point. They shouldn’t even allowed to be open in these conditions, let alone have people pay to play in these conditions. You can’t blame the weather for conditions like this. This is pure neglect. No course…

The pro shop personnel are great. Can use some maintenance on the greens and cart paths. However; I enjoy my time golfing their with my son. Keep up the great work. Jeff

Golfers unwelcome here. Overpriced public course with houses butted up against every hole. Signs everywhere telling you to stay off their grass (but you can buy these other balls I collected from my yard) and warning you that you are 100% liable for any mistakes. If you're looking to play 18 with your irons this would be a great choice, leave your drivers at home bc there's not much use for them. The greens were soft but riddled with divots bc they're so soft otherwise fair, the fairways had some rough spots overall good. Tee boxes are very uneven but in ok condition. The cart path (since your…

I flew in for my dad’s birthday looking to get out and play a round of golf and a nice course for cheap. This course exceeded our expectations. The greens, tee boxes, and fairways were in great shape. Although the course layout was a little tricky it made it fun to play. The staff was very friendly and the maintenance crew was working hard.

I thought the course was in decent shape and the greens as well. Just need the players to learn to fix their ball marks. The Club should cut down the ruff a little, because it takes too much time in trying to find your ball.

If they could space out the tee times a little more it would be 5 stars. Ive gone a couple of times and youre always right on top of other groups. My most recent game here 3 groups were on the tee box at my tee time.

$45 to play this course is not worth it. You can't use weather as the excuse with all of the other courses in the area looking far superior. It's time to train the grounds crew.

Solid value for the money. Readily available tee times. Challenging course due to water hazards, some narrow fairways, and high rough that can make it hard to find your ball.

Greens are brown/diseased and dying or dead. The fairway is turning brown. They changed the layout that completely messed up the play of the course. All the seats on the golf carts are ripped. The cart paths are in serious need of repair. Since all the public golf courses are charging the same price to play - can anyone say collusion - $28 for 9 holes and $40 for $18 is way over priced.
