Coharie Country Club is frequently praised for its scenic layout, featuring challenging elevation changes and well-maintained fairways. Many golfers appreciate the friendly and accommodating staff, as well as the overall condition of the course, despite some noting that the greens can be inconsistent in speed. While the course's amenities receive mixed reviews, with some suggesting improvements, the club's picturesque setting and strategic design make it a popular choice for both local and visiting golfers.

I played this course a few years back when I wasn't very good at golf. Fast forward to now, and I'm not much better, but enjoyed it more. Walked 18 (tougher than expected) early with dew still on the ground. Onto the review. Tee Boxes 3.5/5 - In worse shape than the fairways, some are placed in shaded areas which don't allow for growth, some are not in use due to that. Par 3s are kept pretty good considering. Fairways 5/5 - The grass is full and the ball doesn't exactly sit on top of it, but doesn't sink down enough to compare to the rough. Not many bare spots, and the drainage is good in th…

My cousin was seeking a 20th Century vibe for her upcoming Nuptials Engagement Photos... So I initially contacted the Club and spoke with a gentleman regarding the possibility of hosting an engagement photo shoot behind the clubhouse. He advised that it would not be an issue, provided permission was obtained from a homeowner. I later called to follow up to confirm timeframe / tentative dates and spoke with an Amy. She informed me that the GM I may have spoken with was no longer there and that approval would now need to come from the board. I mentioned that the club’s website FAQs indicates t…

A hidden gem of a golf course. I thought Timberlake GC was the only place you could play in Clinton, now I have another and what a fantastic golf course this is. Rolling hills, pimple greens and though people have said it's narrow I thought it was wide open. Everything was in great condition, however though greens looked great they certainly played at various speeds, some quick but most very slow. Some were cut and some were shaggy. Maybe they are doing some work to them a d letting them grow in parts but I found them though to play and read. Still that never took away the enjoyment of playing…

A fantastic gem of a golf course hidden off Highway 24. Fairways are always tight, and the greens have turned around dramatically to be maybe the best in the area this winter. I would recommend to anybody within driving distance to make the trip down for an outing, pace of play is phenomenally quick. I think I've made it around in under three hours with a foursome. Highly recommend, will always make a stop here on visits near Clinton.

Great course to play! Had the pleasure of speaking with Mike before our round this morning! From tee to green, the course is arguably one of the best around! Once on the green, the small, elevated greens are challenging and you have to be careful with your misses! Greens have improved from years past, and were much more consistent with a true roll! Cannot wait to get back to play another round!

I am roughly a 10 hdcp, and have lived in NC for 32 years, and can count on one hand the courses within 50 miles I have not played. Coharie was one of them. Why? Why did I wait so long? Ellis Maples course, and the layout was varied, challenging, and put a premium on tactical play. I am happy with a drive of 220, but if you keep the ball in play off the tee, you have a chance to score on almost all of the holes. The greens, especially following all the recent rain were uniform and true (I did see one spot in need of love on the back nine, but we're talking one green with one small blemish out…

I want to start off saying. I’ve been playing golf for 20+ years. This is the nicest most professional clubhouse/grill I have ever been to! I would highly recommend this course based on customer service!!!

Played here today for the first time. We had a huge rain last night and course showed as such. There were wet spots, but all things considered course was in excellent shape. Fairways are very good, excellent greens. If you are out of the fairway you will pay the price. Right course that plays longer. Par threes are long, but very fair. I will play here again. Price was very fair for the quality.

Played Coharie for the first time this week with my son, and the course is a fantastic layout! It’s winter, so of course the fairway grass is dormant, but the greens were beautiful and in good shape. We both loved the elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers and hazards. Additionally, the Pro & staff are very helpful.

Design is great and old timey. A look back to the mid 20th century as far as set up and conditions. That being said, this is not a terribly fun course to play. The greens roll substantially slower than any I've played in years. The fairways and tees are shaggy. The greens are VERY small. I'm a relatively high ball hitter and I couldn't hold it on the greens with 7 iron or more. This would be a great course for juniors, not so much low handicappers.

We come up to NC a couple of times a year to meet and golf w a buddy from VA. We’re mid-90s golfers. This is the first time we’ve played Coharie. We changed from Timberlake after talking w a guy in the bar the night before. Coharie is very pretty! The greens, smaller than most, were well-groomed but pretty slow….consistent throughout, but numerous three-putts! We just couldn’t make ourselves hit as hard as was necessary. But, I’d still come back and play it again. It was somewhat rolling for a course away from the mountains and very pretty. Senior price ($27) was outstanding as well.

Coharie Country Club is a hidden gem in Clinton NC. The maintenance of the golf course has been going through changes over the last two months. Through agronomic inputs, the greens are rolling very smooth and a lot faster than in previous years. I read a post submitted by Banksy only two weeks ago that I found to be in stark contrast to the golf course conditions during that posting time frame. Although the greens were slow two months ago, they certainly were not two weeks ago. The fairways nor tee boxes are ever "hairy". Additionally, I am a +3 handicap and this golf course is a great test fo…
