In summary

Timberlake Golf Club is highly praised for its well-maintained course conditions, including bent grass greens and Bermuda fairways, as well as its challenging and interesting layout with a mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s. The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and accommodating service, enhancing the overall golfing experience. While the course offers excellent value for money, some visitors note that the green speeds can be inconsistent and the rough is particularly thick, making ball retrieval challenging.

A great day of golf at Timberlake! It has been over 10 years since I’ve played here. I really enjoyed it. The fairways and greens are well maintained. The rough is thick! Beware of the small short bushes that line the fairway; they will eat your golf balls! Enjoyed my round!

I've enjoyed the course every time I've played there. Greens were running good. Certainly will play there frequently when the season kicks off in a couple months or during a favorable windows.

One of the best deals in Eastern North Carolina! Extremely well maintained. We are getting to the end of a very wet, hot summer. The superintendent has done well to keep the bent grass greens looking healthy. As a fair review, Number 6 green is probably the worst out there. It's in the lowest, hottest part of the course with the least air circulation. Even saying that, it's a great test of golf! Come out, have fun, but be warned. You may not go low without significant effort.

Live in Jacksonville, NC... Wife, daughter and I played today! The girls shoot between a 95-110. I'm a mid-80s golfer. This course was great for the whole family! It offered an acceptable level of challenge, the greens roll fast and true! The elevation change is great fun considering how many courses in our area are flat or have man made changes (that just aren't as fun as the natural terrain). This course is right up there with Cutter Creek in Ayden, and the price is phenomenal! The interesting mix of six par 3s and five par 5s is great and really allows for scoring if you play it well off th…

Played this course on 10/12/25. First time playing and used Group Golfer vouchers so was only $19 a person. It was rainy and windy but we had a great time. Course overall is in good condition. A few rough spots on the edges of greens but nothing terrible. I have seen a LOT worse. Fairways were good and tee boxes were good. A few blind shots and 18 with the wind blowing like it was, was a beast. Will definitely be back on a drier day!!

Price is great for such a nice course. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Every hole was a fun challenge. The houses lining the fairways can be a bit nerving but they are wider than they look. Quite a few dog legs for the shot shapers. I highly recommend getting out to this course!

Definitely 5 stars based on the friendliness of the staff and how well the course is maintained. It's my favorite place to golf when I visit family in Clinton. The staff is always gracious and goes out of their way to secure me a tee time, sometimes on very short notice. The course is in great shape, and it's just a very nice but challenging layout. I always mention to the staff how I wish I were living back in Clinton just so I could enjoy this course more often.

I’ve been a member of Timberlake golf course since 2007. I’ve seen lots of changes throughout the years and the course still remains one of my favorite, not only by me but several family members that continue to drive 5 hours to play the links as they call it. The greens are definitely getting to where the summer months can become a challenge. I can’t say enough about the staff members that will go above and beyond to make your golfing experience a great one.
