In summary

Southern Wayne Country Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for golfers of all skill levels. Visitors appreciate the excellent condition of the greens and fairways, as well as the reasonable pricing and welcoming atmosphere. While most experiences are positive, there are occasional mentions of slow pace of play due to cart availability issues.

We had a group of about 10 and needed a secondary place to play because our first choice was having a tournament. We tried a couple of places and no luck. So one of the group said try southern Wayne. They set us up with no problem. We got there and were able to tee off in about 15 minutes. Great course well kept and great greens very friendly staff. We will be back when weather cools down. Thanks for accommodating us.

First time here. Starting people late due to not having enough golf carts. Playing a 4 man scramble and hadn’t even drove off 3rd hole yet before jerk on cart drove up saying you need to hurry up. When I mentioned we had just gotten started because of the back up with carts, he didn’t like that and was ready to point out how far ahead the next group up was (surprise - they are a 2 man, and at hole 4 we are waiting on them by our 2nd shot ). They didn’t get a special visit though 🤔 I understand it’s a busy Sunday, however we are paying customers just as everyone else is. We were not taking our…

I love this course! It’s my home course, I’ve been playing here for over a year, and I have zero complaints! The course is moderately challenging, great for golfers of all skill. The pro is very nice and makes it enjoyable to golf here. Also the pro shop workers are great! Very well kept and beautiful course.

My home away from home! Mr Alan and his crew does a great job keeping the fairways and the greens in excellent condition. Love the guys that work there. No place like home!

First round ever played here 11/10/24. What an amazing track for only $40 bucks on the weekend! Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in perfect condition, minus the leaves and other debris that you'll usually find on any course's greens this time of year in this area. Members only until 11:30 on Saturdays; we teed off at 11:52 and never saw another group behind us the rest of the round. Definitely worth the price and you'll be ready to come back after playing this hidden gem! Can't wait to play this course in the spring/summer next year, but hope to return sooner!

Flat open course. Well maintained. Greens roll true. There are plenty of dog legs, not a ton of water. I think #7 is the island green hidden behind a dog leg left. Customer service was excellent, and they have chili dogs and beer for sale and coolers for the beer. Will be back!

My brother and I were looking for a place to play a round on our way down to Myrtle and I was very skeptical of any of the courses we found online and finally settled on this one. $54 for the both of us to play on a Thursday at 11am and the pace of play was outstanding, we finished our round in 3 hours and didn't have to wait at all. Course was in incredible shape especially for the price point. Greens were pretty difficult but rolled true, fairways were all in tact with no major issues, tee boxes were fine. I do not leave many reviews but for anyone who is in the same boat that my brother and…

This course is one of the best courses I have played in Eastern NC. The greens are in impeccable condition and have been for some time. A big thanks to our green superintendent. The cost to play here is well worth the money. Best course around the area for under $40.00 a round ( nonmember rate). We have awesome member rates as well. Come by and talk with our club pro about our membership packages. Members ride 18 for only $15.00.

Love this course. Fairways are wet but that is to be expected with all the rain. Greens are in great shape and always improving. The golf Kyle is a pleasure to deal with. Alan has done a fantastic job since coming on board. The course is always improving. Great job done by all.

We just played a Jack and Jill tournament Oct. 2nd and 3rd and the folks couldn't have been more friendly or hospitable !! They treated us like royalty and fed us plenty of good food. The course was a pleasure to play on even though we had had soaking rains. Thanks so much for a fun weekend!!! Helen Hooker
