In summary

Deer Brook Golf Club is often praised for its beautiful layout, excellent course conditions, and friendly staff, making it a standout option in the Charlotte area. The club offers appealing amenities such as a well-regarded restaurant and scenic views, contributing to its reputation as a hidden gem. However, some visitors have experienced issues with the greens' condition and slow pace of play, particularly during busy times or tournaments.

Great fairways, but the greens are so burnt out or covered in sand that nothing rolls out. Sand traps are in hortible shape. No maintenance whatsoever. Super slow pace of play on back side. 5 groups on one hole is not acceptable. It took up to 30 minutes to play a short par 4. Definitely need to work on getting it back to what it once was.

Would be 5 star if some of the greens weren’t bad in places. Overall a great course. Course was in great shape from tee to green. Last 2 holes are over water. Cart path was pretty good for the most part, a few places could be fixed. I would definitely recommend this course. Played 10/5/24

Great course, truly a hidden gem in the Charlotte market! I played here opening weekend in 1999 and returned today to find it in excellent condition. The greens are great on most holes with just a minor spot here and there (and super minimal). The fairways were beautiful and tee boxes were good (although a couple were in rougher condition- white tees on 12 were roughest). I love the layout, lots of challenging holes throughout but lots of opportunities to score well. There is a great clubhouse, restaurant (great prices on turn food and snacks), putting and chipping greens, and driving range (…

An absolutely beautiful course all around. Friendly staff in an awesome facility with a great bar, restaurant and lounge. Wonderful outside seating overlooking 18. Gorgeous views of rolling hills and lakes. Challenging course that makes you play smart. There are some picturesque holes with very low cut greens that played fast even in the rain. Crispy chicken sandwich was 8/10. Cart girl had a full bar. Definitely recommend this beautiful course and will be returning soon.

Gorgeous golf course. Open to the public. Great restaurant inside. Mulligan's has amazing food and a friendly team. Their Saturday Brunch is the best in town. First, they start you off with muffin sticks. MUFFIN STICKS!! Try everything but I'd start with the Hangover Helper. The Biscuits & Gravy, OMG, the Gravy is incredible. I could drink it. Their night menu is fantastic! Full bar, live music, karaoke and the most gorgeous views from their outdoor heated patio. It's so peaceful without having to watch cars drive by. Quite the hidden gem they've got tucked away. I can't say enough about Mulli…

Great Facilities and very respectful staff. Love the atmosphere this club produces! Staff in the pro shop are amazing and very helpful along with their golf director. Best golf course in Cleveland County!

Excellent layout. Greens could be better but bent grass can be really finicky in the summer heat and difficult for a public course budget to manage. Tee boxes and fairways in great shape. Fun play with very reasonable greens fees.

Beautiful course and very friendly staff! The layout is fun and challenging, with excellent course conditions, especially considering the reasonable greens fees! Which tee set you play also changes the course quite a bit, which is great for varying levels of skill. Certainly a gem of a course.

Really close to be a GREAT course in the Charlotte area, but there were a couple of issues for me. Overall, the layout is fantastic. Fairways and tee boxes are in great shape. But.... 1) The bent grass greens were in rough shape after a hot summer. I'd like to play again in the fall or spring. 2) White tees are 6,400 yds and Green was 5,800. With forced carries on several holes, they really need hybrid tees at 6,000 - 6,100 yards. I would definitely play again when the greens are healthy. Fun track.

We had a great time here. Ate lunch in the bar prior to our round. It was very good. They have a decent variety which is good because there is nothing in the area for food. The greens were really nice for Winter. This was my first time here and I look forward to going back in the Summer.
