In summary

Dolphin Head Golf Course is praised for its picturesque layout, excellent course conditions, and friendly staff, offering a memorable golfing experience with its scenic Lowcountry setting. Many appreciate the challenging yet enjoyable design, with well-maintained greens and fairways. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and occasional staffing or organizational challenges, such as lack of marshals and on-course amenities like water stations.

An absolute gem of a course. Now it may not be as long as other courses but the layout and course condition was perfect. Picturesque holes that present various challenges. It is important to be in the fairway. The greens were in excellent condition and began to speed up as the course dried out. I highly recommend the course and have it on my must play list when visiting.

Dolphin Head Golf Club is a great place to play and spend time on the course. The layout is fun and approachable, with plenty of character and beautiful Lowcountry scenery throughout. The mix of holes keeps the round interesting, and the natural setting really adds to the overall experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making everything feel easy and relaxed from the moment I arrived. It’s clear they take pride in the club and want guests to enjoy their time there. Course conditions were very solid. The fairways were in good shape, the greens rolled well, and the course was clearl…

Love this course. Greens are fast and difficult. My only complaint is there’s always too many people on the course. The photo is on the 18th tee box.

Excellent greens and good green fees for course. Course feels understaffed, and disorganized. Club house had record of our tee time and having prepaid but starter did not. Ended up plugging us in behind 4 foursomes that were NOT playing ready golf. Course has no Marshall and round was 5 hrs+. Also had to call to get bathroom code. There was also no water stations on course or a refreshment cart available. Gentleman that checked us in at clubhouse was very nice and professional.

A Gary Player design in 1974, An 18 hole coarse 72 par winds through marshes and trees with bunkers strategically placed for a good challenge.

Really nice course!! Love the layout! Conditions of the greens, bunkers, fairways and tee boxes were phenomenal! Very friendly staff, and they have a great junior rate as well. I was very impressed with this golf club, we will be back for sure!!

Best value golf course on the island! The back nine is undeniably more scenic than the front. Love this course. Hole 14 even has a view of a beach! I would say the front is slightly more challenging than the back in my opinion.

We played this course on our 2nd day through our Golfpac trip. The course was very nice and the range was very well setup as well. Included was a free replay which unfortunately we did not get to use fully. The starters questioned whether or not we were playing 9 because the course was closing in 3.5 hours. Be done by 6:30 or we will lock the gates on you! Typical belligerent talk from a starter with too much time on his hands and a bad attitude. Had he not held us up with his incessant talking and questions, we probably could have gotten the second 18 done. First 18 was great. Overall a decen…

Played this course on June 4th 2023. Overall the course is great from the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. The course is very challenging and you cannot over power it. You must play smart and know when and when not to use the driver. Hazards are all throughout the course and some tight fairways. The amenities on the course are nice as well with the exception that you can't use your driver on the range because it only allows up to 225 yards. Bunkers need some work and wish they had water on the course throughout and not just at the turn. It gets hot in the south. Highly recommend to play at thi…

Awesome track. The ultimate hidden gem. Played after 2pm for $60. Great layout with lots of memorable holes. Played several courses in the area and DH is tough to beat.

Great staff, very friendly bag service and check-in. Starter was very helpful. Bar service was also very good. The course is in very good condition and has become my favorite Hilton Head course. I have played with very low and high handicappers and everyone enjoys this course.

Nov. 2024- played again; major complaint was the pace of play. No ranger or starter or beverage cart or range balls. Might just need more staff but needs help. 2023 - Very fun course. Plenty of challenge - water, trees and undulating greens but still fair with fairly wide fairways. Staff is friendly and nice clubhouse. Good rates too. Tee boxes a little beat up.
