In summary

Emporia Country Club is often praised for its scenic setting, friendly staff, and the unique layout that offers a mix of open and wooded holes, providing a varied golfing experience. Many appreciate the well-maintained greens and the welcoming atmosphere, especially for travelers. However, some members note issues with the greens' condition over time and rough cart paths, and a few find the pricing slightly high compared to similar courses.

Emporia Country Club is a nice course that is off the beaten path. It’s located in one of the most rural areas of Virginia and provides a beautiful backdrop for a round of golf. The course was in good shape for the most part expect for several tee boxes that were either sandy or shaggy. This is a private club but allows travelers to play as guests which I feel is a nice gesture because it’s one of the few places to play in the area. Everyone during the round was very courteous and displayed some of the finest southern hospitality that I’ve ever been exposed to. I would definitely recommend thi…

VERY cool old course. I was traveling looking for courses to play to break up the ride and I'm very glad I found Emporia CC. Called for a noon tee time on a Sunday and told me to come anytime, no tee time needed. (always a good idea to call ahead and confirm)..Very welcoming and only $35. Course is really fun. Small greens with a lot of pretty severe back to front slope. They're firm, but on the slower side, so you can get it close. I think a lot of people would have trouble shooting their handicap here on their first time around, so try to either play match play or be careful with your scorin…

Only could play front 9 and the course was in excellent condition for all the rain they've had. Greens were super stupid fast. Will definitely play there again as they are in a good place for a trucker.

Beautiful little gem. Front 9 are open and the back weaves through the woods up and down hills. Very friendly folks. My wife and I will be back.

Nice course, price is a little steep comparatively. When the greens get some age on them and soften up, it'll be much better

Nice pool. Fun & friendly company. Could do with some more shade covering or umbrella to block the sun.
