In summary

Fairway Hills Golf Club is appreciated for its interesting course layout and friendly staff, with some visitors enjoying the First Tee program for kids. However, several reviews point out issues with course maintenance, including stressed greens and problematic sand traps, as well as frustrations with the GPS system on golf carts, which can impact the pace of play. Additionally, limited amenities and food options, along with inconsistent course management, have been noted as areas needing improvement.

Fairway Hills Golf Club is a solid place to get a round in, and the course itself was actually pretty fun to play. The layout kept things interesting, and the conditions were pretty good overall. It was cart path only during our visit, which made for a bit of a hike, but to be fair, it had rained for a week straight so that’s understandable. Where things fell short was off the course. The clubhouse had extremely limited food options, and on the day we played, no food was available at all. We were told it was because there was a tournament scheduled for the afternoon. I’m not sure how that add…

We go to Fairway Hills a lot because their First Tee Program, for the kids, is great! I wish my parents taught me golf when I was younger. They have reasonably priced classes for kids 5 to 17. Classes run in the spring, summer, and fall. The kids learn golf by going to 4 stations, putting, chipping, driving, and taking the transporter out to one of the holes so they can play on the actual course. I gave 4 stars because there are not enough stations on the driving range in my opinion. When we go to hit balls, we usually have to wait for a station to open because they are always full. So if t…

A competent course. Some pretty holes. If you’re a walker you have your work cut out for you alot of distance between the holes. Staff very accommodating. Fairways in pretty good shape. Sans traps are not cared for or raked. Greens definitely stressed. And what’s with the forward tees in the middle of the fairway??

Really enjoyed this course. Played for the first time this weekend with my LPGA AMA SMD Chapter and it was beautiful! Challenging but not overwhelmingly so. Can’t want to play again… plus everyone was exceptionally friendly

Absolutely terrible experience. - Charged me twice for one cart because we had two golfers. - Sand all over the greens - There are no signs indicating which holes are cart path only versus cart allowed on fairway, but the carts built in GPS system will shut down the cart if you drive it on the fairway, forcing the golfer to get out and push it back to the path. - The GPS shutdown feature was not explained at check in, despite the fact that I told them I had never played this couese. Overall this feature made it the worst golf experience I have ever had. - Cart GPS malfunctioned and shut down t…

Second time I play there and probably the last. I’m sorry, but the course is not in good shape. It just isn’t. The layout is really challenging. The course has so much potential but the tea boxes are terrible. The greens are terrible. They’ve got black dirt underneath of them with some crab grass growing on the green as well as the tea boxes. The surrounding areas of the actual fairways dirt. We have to start being honest about these courses. It’s not worth the money that they ask. This is basically a city course. You can’t hit Driver off the driving range either. The staff is amazing. They’re…

I had an amazing time at Fairway Hills, courses were clean, Tee boxes were well marked, golf carts were well maintained and up-to-date. We had several birdies. Egheosa Osahon Owner of Anywhere Headlight Restoration

I would say this is an average golf course with premium prices. It's definitely not a course you would want to walk, since some holes are spread out a bit. The golf cart was incredibly frustrating, because the GPS kept getting us stuck or slowed us down way too often. I really think they need to fix that issue, it's really frustrating, especially when playing on that course the first time. The course itself is well laid out and has some challenging parts. The people working in the pro shop were friendly and helpful.

My second best place if they open a restaurant, they will earn the first place.

Super friendly staff. Short course, but tight and unique with native hazard areas on every hole. Great value, very quick greens in great condition for this price point. Needs signage to indicate drop zones are available on the other side of hazard (otherwise you would never know) and missing no red/white stakes. I did not see a single OB or hazard stake.

Living in a community on the golf course I get to see all the hard work they do to maintain their property and countless people enjoy golf.

The course was in relatively poor condition but could have been worse. The staff/ grounds crew seemed lazy (respectfully) as the round was “cart path only” although the course and grass were both bone dry. The cart path only rule led to a massive delay in pace of play, as every group in front of us took a lot of extra time looking for and hitting their balls. If you veered even inches off the cart path, the cart would stop dead in its tracks which led to even further delays in pace of play. Further, the group in front of us was a foursome with 2 drivers (in separate carts) and 2 walkers (extr…
