In summary

Patuxent Greens Country Club is appreciated for its challenging layout with numerous water hazards and well-maintained greens, making it a strategic course for golfers of all levels. The staff is frequently highlighted for their friendliness and professionalism, and the course offers good value for the money. However, some visitors have reported issues with course maintenance, especially after rain, and there are concerns about the club's management and treatment of minority players.

Needs lots ok work. Tee boxes have more grass that the fairway. The second cut plays nicer than the fairway.

I've golfed this course many times in the past year and it's become my "go to" course in the area. It's maintained better than many surrounding area courses; it has clean fairways and fast greens yet it is surprisingly affordable. To the guy who said the course was in bad shape in December... I'm absolutely speechless lol. Although it's a relatively flat course, it's definitely challenging; as one reviewer mentioned, it has a LOT of water (lakes, ponds, creeks... etc) and a good number of sand traps, which they keep well groomed. Amateurs shouldn't be afraid to golf here though; many of the f…

Great course for the money! The staff is great here, but it gets very busy on the weekends, so your best bet is either to play early or later. The course is open, and accessible to play for all level of golfers, however water comes into play on at least 10 of the holes, so if you are too wayward, make sure pack plenty of golf balls.

The price was right and the course was in good shape. But there's a lot of water here. A lot. That thing in the distance that you're unsure of? It's some kind of water. Every time. But but it looks like it's just a little dip... and it leads to water. There's nothing particularly wrong with water but if you're a newer golfer you might be put off by constantly dealing with it. That being said, the condition of the course seemed fine. Greens were in good shape.

This golf course is absolutely gorgeous! The greens and fairways are well kept. There is an area for putting practice that also allows for chipping practice. A number of courses I have visited in the DMV region, have strict rules of no chipping near the practice area. The course layout lends to a game of strategy. There are some holes where you can use driver, but for the most part, short clubs will do the job. There are plenty of water hazards so staying in the fairway is a must. The club house is also nicely laid out with a balcony overlooking the 18th green. The sun sets here are beautiful.…

The staff at this location is extremely helpful and down to earth. The course itself is challenging for both novice and experienced golfers. The view is amazing, the surrounding area is beautiful, back into the clubhouse on the 18th green espectacular. I've been here several times and I will definitely be back again.

In great shape since the storm a couple years ago. Greens were very consistent, and rest of the course in good shape. Because there isn't a starter, it can get a bit slow, but can't beat the course quality for the price.

Course was wet in places & t he fairways were in bad shape. Greens were great but course need work but a day at the course beat a day in the office. When it's like this we should get a discount but enjoyed myself, thanks.

If you are a minority, stay away. The management there have escorted individuals of color off without reason on multiple occasions. No refunds issued. Overtly racist to the point where many have been upcharged while their Caucasian friends on the same tee time have not. I've played on many courses within the DMV area and this is the only course where this is a common occurrence. Play at your own risk here.

Has to be the most untidy golf club I’ve ever been to. The bathrooms aren’t as clean and neither is the golf course well maintained. However the food there is quite good. At the moment I don’t think I’ll be recommending guys to this place.

Very well pleased with the course layout and staff. Needs more players and reinvestment of marketing advertising to ensure its continued success

Terrible conditions. Clearly no maintenance since this golf course is going out of business by years end.
