In summary

Furnace Bay Golf Course is frequently praised for its friendly and accommodating staff, well-maintained greens, and affordable pricing, making it a popular choice for both beginner and experienced golfers. The course layout is noted for its unique features, such as a private rail crossing bridge and challenging front nine holes. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about occasional issues with staff interactions and the condition of the driving range grass.

This is a nice public course for the money. Staff is always super friendly and quick to answer the phones. The layout is short(ish) and most of the back 9 lacks cart path, if you’re concerned with that kind of thing for some reason. Lots of hills on the front, a cool private rail crossing bridge is a unique feature of this property. Usually in pretty nice shape as long as it’s not during long spans without any rain. If you’re looking for Bulle Rock-esk conditions…. this ain’t it, but it’s also literally less than half the price.

They have a good size driving range. Price for the bucket of golf balls was fair. The only issue I had was the grass area of the driving range was really tore up. Other than that it was a good experience

Prices are great, and most of the staff were very friendly. However, as mentioned by someone else in another review, a staff member drove by on a golf cart, assumed we hadn’t paid for both players, and told us to pull off so the group behind us could pass. Moments later, that group told us we were fine and that they’d be taking longer anyway. We felt rushed the entire time, even skipping parts of some holes to avoid holding anyone up. Meanwhile, we often waited over 10 minutes for the group ahead of us, yet nothing was said to them. This was my first time golfing on a course, and unfortunatel…

Very friendly staff. That are happy to accommodate newer golfers and not pair you with strangers. Greens were beautiful and rolled true.

This course is one of the best around. Its prices literally cannot be beat. The twilight hours price is very competitive for the area and includes a cart. The greens and fairways are well kept and beautiful. The employees at the pro shop were very nice and knowledgeable and gave helpful information to our group since it was our first time golfing here. We talked to some of the other golfers and they reiterated what the pro shop did, the first 9 holes are not easy. The back 9 has very open fairways and are pretty forgiving, but the front 9 are on the narrow side and have quite a few out of play…

Great first experience here. Nice course. Beginner to intermediate. The gentleman, Shane, came by several times and gave my daughter some pointers which was very kind and hit a few balls with us. Will return! Thanks!

Golf course was in decent shape. Event was awesome. Holes were just challenging enough for weekend hackers. Lol. It was a tournament, so I am not sure of prices, but was very pleased with the course overall.

Not everyone is going to agree and thats ok the difference between a boy and a man can be summed up in 1 word sacrifice. So with 3 little blessings of my own my wife and I do alot of sacrificing. Over the last couple of months my wife has stood strong with me while these last couple of months have passed and I can get myself back into a better place mentally and finally by the grace of God put the bottle down.(alcohol) So my wife has things shr likes to do to help get her mind off of things with the kids as well as me mine being golf hers being spending money on the kids and her self. So I dec…

This was my first time playing this course and I was impressed with both the price ($22 for a senior to walk---7.75 miles by the way) and the pace of play (3.3 hours on a quiet and gorgeous late May Thursday afternoon). Perhaps more importantly the course was in very good to excellent condition and the lay out interesting. Its not a long course and holes 2 - 6 are obtained by crossing the railroad bridge, setting them aside from the rest of the course. These five holes are perhaps the most interesting and quirky and fun, featuring several blind tee shoots and water hazards. I enjoyed my round…

Absolutely love playing at this course! The staff are very friendly, well kept greens, and you cannot beat the price for a round. They also have a great driving range that is also affordable. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Course overall is in good shape. This time of year they are aerating. Did the greens last week and are working on the tee boxes this week. But did not come into play much.
