Gardner Golf Course

One of 3 golf courses run by the city of cedar rapids. An 18 hole course. You can choose to play the front 9 the back 9 or the entire 18 holes. The club house is looking a little bit old as it has been around for 40+years. The course is well maintained and fairly open to play. A couple of water hazards and some bunkers.

Great course and well maintained. Very challenging greens. Nice clubhouse. I highly recommend it. We did 18 in exactly 4 hours, no rushes. Fun time!

Great city course! Challenging but also good for those just starting to play! Decent rates during the weekdays and a bit more on the weekends!

Nothing like having group jump in front of you on hole #1 after missing their tee time. Only to hold up pace of play by 3 holes to find out it’s the assistant manager Thomas and his group of friends. After feeling the need to confront us, swear at us, and threaten to call the police simply because we decided to go around them we made the decision to leave and never come back. Beautiful course we’ve been playing for years and have had great experiences in the past, but will not be back when you allow individuals like that to represent your course. Golf course was nice. But I have to say the older man in the golf cart hut was not so friendly especially for a new time golfer, he rode up to us at our first hole stating we are not going fast enough. First golfing experience was not so nice… hopefully I can find other courses with better hospitality/respect for new comers.

The man to get the cart was racist. He asked if I was with the rest of the group and I said “yes”. He told me I didn’t look like them (I’m half black) and then laughed. He then took 10 minutes to get me a golf cart even though he had plenty of keys in the box and the next carts went out quick.

Man! We play at Gardener a lot. My self a long time golfer below- too average. My GF is a new golfer. We took a couples lesson with Steve CR golf professional. He gave us great insight to both of our games.Gave us tools and insight to continue to help us get better for an incredibly great price. I was also able to order a club replacement to match my set (Ping G425 Serial number used) that I had misplaced. Staff is great and we enjoy it very much. Thank you CR golf.

Fairly good golf course that does not wow you, but has some solid holes

Really good layout, usually in good condition for a municipal course. Definitely play the set of tees that will let you have the most fun. The white/gold combo set can be fun (hitting a long drive on a 300y par 4 is a ton of fun)!

Normally we have a fine experience here, when we got here today we were attempting to get a second cart to have extra people ride behind our golfers, they lady inside informed us to speak to the man running the cart stand which was totally fine we understand it is Saturday and it is busy and that it might not be possible! When we got to the stand I was trying to explain the situation and what we were needing just to see if they had an extra cart to use. And then the older man running the stand proceeded to point at me and tell me 3 times to SHUT UP… and then ask me the questions that I was alr…

Fantastic track. I played when they just sanded the greens, but the last few holes the sand was blown off-rolled really nice. Maintained great. Challenging yet forgiving. Will definitely go back!

We came to have a fun time for our friends birthday, when we got here we had to speak to this old man with white hair and a white beard. We were trying to explain that we were needing 2 carts since we have riders who aren’t playing, we understood that this could be a big ask since it’s a Saturday.
