In summary

St. Andrews Golf Club has been noted for its friendly and accommodating staff, providing a welcoming experience for visitors. However, many reviews highlight significant concerns about the course's maintenance, including poor conditions of the greens, fairways, and tee boxes, as well as high prices that do not reflect the current state of the facilities. The shift in focus towards event hosting over golf amenities has also been a point of contention among longtime patrons.

So sad to witness the fall from grace this place had. I remember as a kid, there was a driving range here. Now it's gone. I also remember there were way more people playing at all times. It's practically a ghost town now. It was fun to play on the course today, but I could tell it was not in the best condition. On the bright side, the lady in the clubhouse was very friendly and helpful. So, thank you for that! It also seems like the actual golf course is an afterthought in many ways. Like with that event center indoors and what not. I heard from someone that the city of Cedar Rapids offered t…

Whoever owns this course, I beg you to please sell it to the City of Cedar Rapids now so they can actually turn it into something usable. The longer you wait, the harder time you are going to have to sell it. Get out now, sell if for what they are offering, and go retire on a beach somewhere.

If I could give negative stars I would the people running the course are nice but have no idea what there doing this course used to be my favorite in town . Fairways are more weeds than grass . Tee boxes are horrible. And the greens omg the greens like putting on shag carpet. The old guy that used to own and operate st Andrews must be rolling in his grave to see what the new management has let this course become . And the prices are crazy I’ve seen much more reasonable prices at way better courses there charging a premium price for a very shitty experience I mean $8.20 for pop and small candy…

Absolutely the most disappointing place in Iowa. We used to have so much fun playing here. New owners have ruined a cedar rapids treasure. Tee boxes have more weeds than grass same thing with the greens. Bunkers are full of crap and haven't been groomed I bet one time. Overpriced beverages. Truly this place is a last resort option if you can't find ANYTHING better to sirens your money on. This place is a dump.

125 for 2 18 hole rounds with cart. Wouldn't be bad if the course wasnt trash. Front 9 greens aren't terrible but so overgrown. Back 9 greens just dead spots everywhere. Then charged 11 dollars for a 20 oz soda and a propel. No yardage markers anywhere. Tee markers are all wrong. Par 5 says its a par 4. Can't even tell where some of the tee boxes are supposed to be. Overgrown bushes and rough. If you have a lesser course that's fine but charge less. And stop putting money into your party room.

To see the demise of this course sickened me. The horrific negatives are almost too many to list: - Fairways like cow pastures - and that’s unfair to cows - Greens like shag carpet, where they’re not dying brown patches, or ant hills - Not a distance marker to be found - Women’s tee boxes not even mowed! Can hardly find the markers that are buried in the long weeds - Bunkers lined with foot long weed beds - No rate break for 9, vs 18 hole rounds - No military or senior rates - Course not in GHIN handicap database - No water on the course, and Clubhouse wouldn’t provide even a cup of ice water…

Had an amazing time playing. One of the best courses I’ve played with an amazing staff. I was traveling through the area and they were very accommodating. Played 18 in 2 hrs. Highly recommend.

They seem to take care of the holes visible from the clubhouse, but once you get past the first few holes the course gets nasty quick. Seems like a glorified event center is the business model with no interest in golf. Carts are to be returned by 7pm, when they close, which is wild. It’s a shame because this course has great bones, challenging course and was my favorite in town at one point, but it has fallen into terrible condition. I will say it was much worse 3-4 years ago, however this once beautiful course is now by far the most poorly maintained course I’ve ever seen. Greens are border…

$77 for 18 holes??? Then the course is in HORRIBLE condition. I have better grass in my front yard, and do nothing to take care of it. Can't even tell where the tee boxes are because it's the same nasty grass that the fairways have become. You're better off playing from the rough. At least then you will have some sort of fluffy grass under your ball. The fairways are nothing but weeds with bare spots all over the place. Greens were yellow and dead looking. Really a shame. Used to really like this course.

I've played here multiple times over the years and really thought the other negative reviews I'd seen were just blowing it out of proportion, but this course has really gone downhill. The people were friendly, but their greens are trash (large bald spots on almost every one, pot holes, etc), no ball cleaning stations, signage & fencing in disrepair, and it cost 2 people $117 with a cart and a 6 pack for weekday evening play. Far overpriced for what you get. It's a shame because it used to be a pretty course in the middle of town. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere.

This place is a joke. Wish someone would buy this place and get the current ownership out of there. No more driving range. Can’t pay to just play 9. Such a shame. Update: Went to play here on Father's Day because it was the only place not packed. The condition of the course is absolutely horrid. I was appalled by some of the greens and conditions overall. $55 for an atrocious course, plus they charged me another $17 for my wife to ride along who wasn't even golfing. I will take my business elsewhere from now on.

Since ownership changed this place has gone downhill drastically. Saturday @noon and there were maybe 8 cars in the parking lot- now after using the facility we understand why. The price was $72/18 holes for one golfer + one rider with a cart. We were told it is a requirement to play 18 holes before 4pm. $17 of that fee was for the rider alone. When we asked about the price, it was suggested that we come back on a week night when the price is less to golf. The owner then proceeded to argue with me that I was wrong when I mentioned to her that another local course, that we frequent often, doesn…
