In summary

Greendale Golf Course receives praise for its friendly staff, well-maintained fairways, and challenging layout with several water hazards. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the course's condition, particularly the greens and tee boxes, and note issues with slow pace of play and value for money. Despite these concerns, the course is appreciated for its affordability and convenient location.

Beautiful challenging golf course with several water hazards to make your day exciting. Truly well maintained with beautiful fairways. Greens and t boxes are well maintained. Pace of play is adequate, several people do like to walk, but people kept up. The cart paths are gaily smooth, much better than many I have experienced in the area. Staff is friendly. No complaints, definitely a good place to play 18.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Other than that... $31 for 9 holes is ridiculous. Especially, considering the condition of this course. The landscape needs a lot more attention for that price... a lot. Also, none of the tee boxes were properly marked.

I am offering a 1 star review because I will never golf here again..otherwise I'd make it a 2 star review. First, price for 9 holes was high for two riders. Was told we would be able to start sooner than tee time, just check with the Starter. We hit a few warm up balls from their batting cage practice area. Starter was very rude. Snapped at me when I asked for clarification as to what we were waiting for. She made us wait unnecessarily. No one on tee box for over ten minutes and we were in a golf cart. Put us behind the final four pack team of elderly walkers in a tourney. We casually played 2…

Grab your clubs and stop by this 18 hole public course. The greens are in the best condition I have seen. The 6th hole is under construction, but that should not deter you from visiting this really nice course. They also just replaced their entire fleet of golf carts.

I’m a Fairfax County Park Authority employee, and I have to say—out of all the courses right now, Greendale takes the cake. The course is in excellent condition, in my opinion, and the staff is friendly and very helpful.

07/01/23: The golf course was so so. Range: 0/10 - no range and there was an old guy that kicked us off the single section with a net to give a lesson. The course should have a separate section for lessons. The greens were 6/10, tee boxes: 3/10(uneven and not taken care off), sand bunkers(3/10 - muddy due to the rain), fairways 6/10. Pace of play: 4 hours 15 min for a 9:50am tee time. Price: Seems high for the quality of the overall experience.

Beautiful course at the lowest 18-hole price in the area! Absolutely loved it. Course was in great shape (in May), and it's an excellent combination of challenging holes, wide open holes, and beautiful scenery. GREAT value! Nicer than most $70-80 courses in the region.

Moved here from Australia 🇦🇺 and this course is close to me . The course is tight , some interesting holes . But the greens are very slow and not prepared properly . Overall it’s a good course for a hit but the putting is not good for your confidence . They really need to cut the greens

It’s a beautiful August day, about 80° and partly cloudy with great weather earlier in the week including a day or two of light rain. You make a tee time at Greendale golf course expecting the fairly priced public course to be in pretty good to average condition. BOY WAS I WRONG!! This course was the worst conditioned course I have played in about 10 years. The tee boxes were like rough, fairways were half dirt patches while the greens were as bumpy as an acne filled adolescents forehead. There’s a saying the grass is always greener. Thought it’d be that way on the back nine but the tee boxes…

It's a really conveniently located public course.. The staff is really nice and helpful. But with the amount of play from hackers it's tough for this course to be kept in nice shape. The winter and spring are the best times here.

As others have pointed out recently, the condition of the course is not good. The greens are borderline unplayable (outside of what is visible from the clubhouse). On top of the bad conditions, one staff member was extremely rude as we were checking in. Won't be playing again anytime soon. AVOID.

Played Greendale yesterday, Sept. 6, 2020 It was a disaster! Most tee boxes were dirt, 14th green gone - hole closed. Other greens virtually destroyed, crab grass growing everywhere in greens, fairways not mowed, rough not mowed. Rough growing into greens. Wet and muddy in many low lying places. One of the worst condition golf courses I have ever played in my entire golfing career since I was 12 yrs. old. See attached photos. Much of the damage is due to weather, fungus, excess moisture and excessive heat, but a lot of deterioration is due to negligence in maintenance - such as not mowing…
