In summary

Henson Creek Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained, beginner-friendly 9-hole layout with wide fairways and a scenic setting. The course is considered a great value, offering affordable rates and a relaxed atmosphere, with friendly staff enhancing the experience for many visitors. However, some guests have reported issues with staff hospitality and course management, including slow pace of play and limited amenities, which may detract from the overall experience for some.

The course is a delight and well priced. Nestled in a valley with tree topped hills and vistas, you'll be convinced you're far out in the countryside. With well spaced holes, you'll never feel pressured to rush through a shot, and never have to worry about taking cover from errant balls. Paint Branch feels downright claustrophobic by comparison. Very beginner friendly, wide fairways and no dense forests or brush to hack through looking for errant shots. It's true that a few greens were patchy with uneven speeds, but it was a quiet, relaxing and pleasant 9, and the surprise wooden tree carving…

Henson Creek is a hidden gem in PG county. It’s a well kept 9 holes course with a few holes to take the driver out of the bag. You cal walk or ride; I usually walk and pull carts are available. The course is usually busy but I’ve never had an issue with pace of play.

Mr. Diamond the golf course attendant threatened to have my group removed and continued to harass us for NO reason at all. We feel he was discriminating and judging us based on our appearance. My team will not be returning to this course and will ensure no one supports this business. Do not recommend. There are too many other great courses in MD which provide top notch service.

Course is cheap and isn’t in bad shape. Greens were punched but for the price it isn’t bad. However, we paid for a medium bucket of range balls. No range balls available…… starter wasn’t even attempting to do his job. Course was extremely backed up because of it. Most likely won’t be back because of this. Courses need to stop being greedy and scheduling 8 -10 minute tee time intervals and have a starter who can’t enforce pace of play. Course is very affordable which is why I gave it 3 stars.

Pro Shop is terrible! Definitely not hospitable at all. Me and a friend pulled up earlier than the workers. They were not on time. Older gentleman that worked there had to call the manager to figure out what time the other workers were supposed to be there. Their website says 730 but that’s a lie. I have never Heard of a golf course that opened up later than 730 on a Saturday morning!

Very nice 9 hole course. Quaint, pretty, and no homes. No tee times needed. Quite open and walker friendly, but the course has just enough hazards to keep you on your toes. The greens are in great shape. The fairways are good, but can be a little boggy in a few areas. A good bargain and a great course for beginners.

Henson Creek Golf Course is a STEAL!!! PROS: Prices are amazing, with me and my son paying 30 bucks on a Wednesday morning to walk 9. Clubhouse feels very cozy and has good quality merchandise. Fairways were in perfect condition for August, maintenance staff are on the ball. Greens are in good shape, very few patches, but around the greens there were a few bare spots. Most holes are very open but still challenging, with good bunkers, a couple of thick fescue features, and nicely shaped greens. Bathrooms were redone and are spotless. CONS: Limited carts and push carts for rent, Limited drink s…
