In summary

Gus Wortham Golf Course is highly praised for its well-maintained greens and fairways, challenging layout, and excellent value for money. The staff is frequently noted for their friendliness and professionalism, enhancing the overall experience. While the course's location next to a busy street is a minor concern for some, and there are occasional criticisms regarding the cancellation policy and certain staff interactions, most visitors find the course to be a hidden gem in Houston with superb amenities and a welcoming atmosphere.

Great course. Greens absolutely killed me. Greens were very true and very fast. Great tee boxes. Fairways were tight. Great layout. Friendly staff. Definitely a must in Houston. Well worth the price in fact much better than the higher priced courses.

Maddy/maddie, at the front desk, is super patient. Had to call that girl 3 times trying to coordinate with my group and she didn’t bat an eye. Older lady at the front desk is super sweet as well. Ariel is absolutely amazing cart girl. Mentioned to her that we golf at many courses and she’s the best most personable one we’ve encountered and I looked forward to seeing her come around the course. Marshall ~ didn’t get his name; was kind too. THE FOOD. The food was SO GOOD. I will think about it everyday. A chef who isn’t afraid of spices deserves 2 Michelin stars. I would go here everyday just fo…

The hidden gem of Houston Golf! Come for the price, the shorter length, and nice range. Stay for the *beautiful* greens. 9/10 days they are almost perfect. They roll true. They roll fast. If you miss, it’s not because “it hit something” or it “broke out of nowhere”… It’s because you aren’t the putter you think you are 🤣

Overall a pretty good course. The course is in great shape and seems to be maintained very well. Front nine has two par fives off to the right along a busy street there is netting however it's kind of nerve-wracking with all the noise and potential for slicing one over the net. Some very tricky holes but overall and enjoyed it and had a good time!

Great value for money! Course is incredibly fun to play. Although the fairways are generous, the defense of this course are the green speeds and undulations. For weekend rate of $70 (greens fees, cart fees, and range balls) this is one of the best values in town given the great course conditions. I will definitely be back. Only improvement needed is food offerings in grille. Tried a hotdog and it was not good. Oh, and not sure why carts can’t be in parking lot. It’s convenient for staff but not paying customers.

We rented clubs and booked a tee time, then unexpectedly a storm came through and everything shut down. We only played three holes, which was really sad. The team at the course gave us a full refund, which I was not expecting. So I wanted to say thank you for doing right by us. We loved what we saw of the course and recommend anyone visiting Houston should make a point to play here.

Very cool course. Considering time of year ( Mar 25’), course was in good shape. Greens were fast and undulating. Definitely worth a return trip.

Awesome day on the course today. The greens and fairways were in great shape! Challenging course it was. The front is fairly long and the back is short and treacherous. Lots of protected greens! Big bunkers and mounds to make the round challenging. Caught a pic of a gator snoozing. Stand clear! They allowed pets to join in the cart for an added fee It is definitely worth stopping by.

This renovated course is all class now. Nice, manicured, tee box, fairways, & greens. Enjoy walking this course. The topography is unlike no other in course in HTown! Well worth the costs to finally renovate this historical golf course 🏌⛳🏆

The BEST kept secret 🤔 in town. Those that know know how great this course is for the tee rate. Stop comparing to the other, "it" muni, this takes the prize. From the remodel a few years back of the course, to the new club house and the great The Grill w great adult beverage options for during and after your round. Don't wait to grab a tee time! Great staff to boot! FYI, great cheeseburger w seasoned fries! 😊🤙
