In summary

Glenbrook Golf Course receives praise for its challenging layout, elevation changes, and improved conditions under new management, with many noting the greens and fairways are well-maintained. The staff is generally described as friendly and knowledgeable. However, some visitors express concerns about the lack of a driving range, poor cart conditions, and inadequate bunker maintenance. Additionally, the clubhouse facilities and signage on the course have been criticized, and there are occasional reports of slow service and cart shortages.

I enjoyed playing at Glenbrook today. I work very close to the course, but wasn't aware it was there. The layout and topography reminded me of the Gus Wortham course, but Glenbrook is in better shape. The layout is challenging and I loved the elevation changes. The greens looked quite nice, especially for a municipal course. The fairways were also in very good condition. Everything was well manicured, and the facility very clean. I did not see any trash lying around on the ground. It’s unfortunate there is no driving range. The first golf cart I loaded my stuff in had a flat tire, and the seco…

This course is well managed and the staff is knowledgeable. The starter is a great guy and even gave us few friendly tips. The course is in decent condition and the new management is definitely doing a much better job maintaining the grass, greens, etc.

Played here today course has great potential. There was no sand in any of the bunkers. Grass was not well maintained at all. Several holes seem to have very large patches of grass that appear to not have been mowed for at least a week in the middle of the "fairway". Several times we could not locate the next hole due to no markings no tee box markers. Do not waste your money at this course. Hopefully someone will buy the property and turn it into a proper course.

Course was looking better than expected. Great value. Cart girl was mia entire 18. Caught up to her at the clubhouse and she literally drive past us. She killed the experience on the front 9. We were smart enough to load up for the second half. If you go, make preparations to be left alone on course.

This is absolutely the worst golf course I have ever been to in my life. The cons: The clubhouse is a dump No driving range The golf carts are in bad shape (ours died on the 9th hole) Ant piles on the greens The bunkers were full of rocks, dirt and weeds. No sand to be found. The course condition was horrible You think it's cheap to play 18 for $40 but when you consider all the above it ends up being a rip off The pros: There is hardly anyone else playing so you almost have the entire course to yourself. We called on Saturday afternoon at 4PM to see if we could get two foursomes on the nex…

Holy (insert explicative) this course has improved under the new management! Cheap, close to home, and relatively challenging. The greens actually have grass on them now. New carts. Better attitude. All for less money than memorial or herman. I wouldn't call this a nice course but for the price I would call it a bargain. Plus, ten minutes or less from downtown. Lot's of winning going on here.

I give it five stars by comparison. It has been totally turned around. They actually have a crew working there. The greens look good and the club house has had a make over with new kitchen appliances and a new friendly staff. If you used to go and stopped because it was being run down it is time to go back. The fairways are revived and they are steadily doing upgrades. Time to go back and have fun like it was 15 years ago. Say no the the botanical garden.

I played this golf course 5 times in 2015 and each time the course conditions worsened. The management didn't do anything to maintain it. In October of 2015 I vowed to never go back it was that bad, even for the $10 golfnow hot deal. Well, about 3 weeks afobi read an article that said the city had taken it over and was in the process of renovating it. Then about 2 weeks ago I read a review where someone said the couse had taken a turn for the better and I decided to check it out. I'm glad I did. The course was in great shape. The fairways were cut, the bunkers had sand, and the greens were in…

I will never play here again. We get there a little before our tee time to find out that the wait is an hour. The reason for the wait is because they ran out of golf carts for people to use. We decided just to walk the front 9 so we didn't have to wait anymore. Good thing we got off because the "Pro" dealing with people going off joined the group behind us and played in a group of 7 for some money while all these other people waited behind them. The course was in awful shape, there was no difference between the fairway and rough (being the first time I played the course I had no clue where to…

Cool course, short but tricky. Couldn't use my driver on a LOT of the par 4's and some of the 5's. It made the course more interesting. Greens were in decent shape for a city course. I had fun!

We got kicked out during open hours for playing Pokemon. Understandable. In response to the owner, it's all good. I read the signs on my third visit. But if you do not want people going there for Pokemon even after golfing hours then that'll affect the dozens of people I saw going in with their children and friends to play. One thing you could do is be one of those few places that encourage Pokemon Go, after golfing hours of course. This place is one of the few to have a rare pokemons. You could charge a small fee for people to enter, heck even rent carts for easy traveling. But well, that sou…

This is by far the worst course I have ever played. The entire course is not maintained. Greens should be called "browns". The sand traps are overgrown with weeds and the cart paths are riddled with down trees. The clubhouse is like something out of a 1970's Austin Power's movie with a mildew smell. The worst part is that even on Golf Now you are charged $25 to play there. HORRIBLE!!! Avoid this place.
