In summary

Huntsville Downs Golf Club is frequently praised for its beautiful and well-maintained course, featuring a scenic layout with challenging greens and stunning views, especially during the fall. The staff is generally described as friendly and welcoming, contributing to a positive experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with the marshals' approach to managing pace of play and have expressed concerns about the course not being part of Golf Canada for official handicap tracking. Additionally, a few have mentioned the high cost relative to amenities and occasional maintenance issues with carts and bunkers.

A beautiful course! When the fall colours are in, take the time to soak in every hole, Especially the back nine. The greens are challenging, pay attention to breaks and you can hole some creative putts. The elevated par 3 on the front 9 is a beautiful hole and the course just gets better from there. Great signage to guide you through the course on the immaculate cart paths. Extremely well kept course. Definitely worth the price!

Great course, I had an amazing time. Hit a bucket of balls right by the clubhouse and 1st tee. The scenery was fantastic and the course was in great shape. Not too challenging. A few nice wide open fairways for the driver. I'll be back for sure

Easily one of the best public tracks you’ll find in Muskoka. It’s a 100-year-old Stanley Thompson design that gets more beautiful with every hole. The course is carved through the forest, but it never feels too narrow. It strikes that perfect balance of challenging but always fun. The views from many of the tee boxes are stunning and the Canadian Shield is nicely incorporated into many of the holes. Course conditions were excellent—greens and fairways were in fantastic shape. Regarding the staff, every person we met from the pro shop to the starters to the marshals were friendly, polite, and…

1st time out! Live here so no clue why the hold up. I do find the 1st, 9 holes rather close to each other so you better hit straight. And the last round of golf at 3pm so we couldn't get 18 in. They say wolves spotted in back 9 at dusk. Maybe the sheep farm across the road to belame. Greens are nice, fairways are good. Turkeys everywhere but over all an amazing price point. 80 ish for 2 and cart after 3pm. Fall colors starting so it's pretty. Dated club house, new carts. Will play again.

Great course... Good Value for the money compared to other tracks in the area. Highly recommend. The range is also a big bonus for those who like to warm up!

Great course, plays a little long and is great for beginners and mediocre golfers. The sights are beautiful and the greens are well maintained. They play slow. There was an incident with us on the golf course where one of my buddies ran over the shrubs and we did not notice. Granted it was our fault, but the staff treated it terribly. We were putting in our final hole, this is a gentleman sport and every moment of silence is needed. The staff marched into the green yelling at us to leave immediately. We obeyed and left. But this is not the right way of dealing with a problem of running over…

Go play at granite ridge. Way better staff and course. Don't give your money to this farmers field of a course. Staff is horrible here... Carts are broken. The Starter and Marshall are not nice people. Have a some common decency when you speak to people. It goes a long way.

Has one of the increasingly rare driving ranges off grass rather than mats. Reasonably challenging but fun course. Well maintained. Best done with a golf cart due to the distance between a couple of holes even though we normally use a push cart. The "rough" is often dense woods so be prepared to lose a few balls.

I have played here for 10 years. Recently played and the cost increased to $100 with no change to the course or carts. When asked why the increase I was told it was their 100th anniversary so they figured why not make it an even $100. Nothing like celebrating history by increasing the price. Don’t waste your money. There are a handful of courses in the vicinity with updated gps carts for less money.

Beautiful course. Hosted 10 of us on a bachelor party, felt welcomed from the first email sent, and the starter was the kindest man I've ever met. Chrissy was awesome to deal with in the pro shop. The only issue we had was after a short par 4, the group in front of our threesome (our own guys) were obviously able to get a small gap from us, as we waited for the green to clear before teeing off (we missed the green by 10ft, so it was the right call). After the hole, the marshall came over and told us to pick up the pace. He then asked what time we teed off, looked at his watch, and noticed we…

My wife and I played there on Monday and were delighted with the staff, very friendly, and the course was in excellent condition. You could bite off as much course as you wanted and the fairways were lush and the greens rolled true. Very nice layout, walkable, but not for the faint of heart!
